Translated as The Wall For Peace, Le Mur Pour La Paix was a nice surprise find during our trip to Paris.
Designed by artist Clara Halter, and installed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the wall is intended to be reminiscent of Jerusalem's Wailing Wall.
It's basically a big stainless steel and glass monument, with the word PEACE engraved all over it using 32 languages and 14 alphabets.
Most folks that visit the Eiffel Tower will miss this, even though it's located at the bottom of the same park - which I think is a real shame. Particularly now, with rallies in support of refugees occurring all over the world, monuments like this need to be seen.
If you happen to visit the tower on a nice day, go a walk for a couple of minutes and take in this pretty stunning piece of modern art. If it's raining, don't bother - it gets really muddy! read more
