    Amuse-bouche

While I did enjoy many aspects of this restaurant, I found it to be not quite up to par. The service here is the epitome of "white glove". I really appreciated how proactive and thoughtful their waitstaff was. They easily outperform other restaurants of a similar price point in this regard. I cannot say the same for the food, however. They had an admittedly poor start, with slightly gummy bread (pictured) and bland amuse-bouches and appetizers. The vegetable appetizer was particularly disappointing, as it had this bitter vegetal foam reminiscent of fibers leftover from pressing a green juice. These missteps surprised me, as bread and hors-d'œuvres seem like relatively easy points for such a high-caliber restaurant to master. Luckily, the two mains (pigeon and pollock) were exquisite. The sauces that accompanied both dishes were standouts. Granted, I did have a few critiques for the pigeon which was just slightly lacking in salt. In comparison to the first half of the meal, however, this was a vast improvement. I also thoroughly enjoyed the dessert course, though I have a major sweet tooth so I'm relatively easy to impress on that front. The ambiance was slightly underwhelming, with the interior being evocative of a hotel wedding venue: thick polyester curtains and food photography lining the walls, tangerine carpeting, and dried flowers decorating each table. Overall, I would only recommend this restaurant to someone who really wants a traditional fine dining experience with a great deal of courses. This is one of the few restaurants in Reims who can provide that. I would also suggest coming here with company, as the food quality is not strong enough to justify dining alone. Take someone who isn't very into food that you're trying to impress here.

We had dinner here just a few days ago. We ordered several dishes and they were all pretty good for a former one star Michelin. However, I was disappointed with my entree - roasted monkfish with salted butter, lobster juice and tarragon. It didn't taste right - somehow a bit musty? I asked our waiter about replacing it. She advised that I could order another dish, but would still have to pay for the monkfish. This was surprising, but not wanting to argue and spoil our evening, I went ahead and paid for two entrees.

I love checking out Michelin rated or Michelin mention restaurants, as I want to confirm if they are really all that special and worth the money. This was the only Michelin starred restaurant I visited during this trip to the Champagne region, and it was hands down the best restaurant I ate at during the trip. The food was impeccably prepared, the champagne recommendation a perfect compliment to our meal and the service outstanding. I had a 5 course tasting, and my husband had the chefs tasting. And even though we had a different number of courses, the delivery of the food was never awkward. Also, the menu is only in French, so I started using Google Translate, but it was much more efficient having the waiter translate. He actually said to us that he was a very good application. Haha! The prices for the food are really reasonable for what you get. Great choice for our last meal of the trip!

Well...I "treated" myself to this meal as an early birthday gift while in Reims. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed in this Michelin rated restaurant. The space is austere and has an elegant yet sterile decor. It is exceptionally quite dining room. The service is Friend and attentive but does border on intrusive at times. I don't like people watching me eat so directly or hovering over my dinner while I'm eating. The menu we had was 55.00 (beware that the 37.00 menu was only for lunch although it lists this as a weekday dinner option online). Wine list is good. The "Bon aperitif" starter was a tomato cream pastry and an avocado purée with cream on top. Both were fine and seemed very traditional. The Lobster Soup dish was flavorful but the texture of the jelly at the bottom was hard to forgive. The third item was the "Perfect Egg at 63 Degrees" which I found to be flavorless and unremarkable - it tasted like a poached egg and nothing more and is a simple dish of poached egg in a cauliflower white sauce. The fish entree was cooked perfectly and this dish was lovely - flavored with olive and tomatoes. The main course was the duck. Duck was tender and somewhat flavorful but the dish lacked the inventiveness expected for a Michelin stared restaurant. Finally, the peach dessert was excellent. And, to top it all off, the sommelier forgot to bring the wine I had ordered yet charged it on my bill at the close of dinner. Also, when asked at the start of dinner, he would not offer a recommendation for a proper pairing. I would not return to this restaurant as there is little excitement in the offerings and is only adequate Michelin rated restaurant.

We ended up here after looking for a nice restaurant for lunch in the Michelin guide. This place doesn't have any Michelin stars but it's worth one in my book. The decor, service, silverware (really beautiful, from Bernardaud) and the food are all worthy of the one michelin star restaurants I was lucky to try in the past (in Paris and San Francisco). I would strongly recommend going with one of the prix fixes (I myself ordered a la carte but ended up regretting it). The prix fixe that my girlfriend ordered consisted of 4 fixed dishes: you can't choose from a list (the reason why I ordered a la carte) but everything that I tasted from it was awesome. From a la carte, I ordered the filet de chevreuil (venison) roti with petit gateau d'endives: this was good but not worth the price (39 euros). They actually start you up with some amuse bouches, then a small appetizer (all complimentary). Then the prix fixe starts with a foie gras de canard poilé in a bouillon facon pot au feu. I had never seen seared foie gras served in a broth before but this was actually delicious. Then noix de saint jacques roties on a risotto parmersan sauce vert pre. Best scallops I have ever had and the combination with the risotto was terrific. Then a meat course: a filet de boeuf in a red wine reduction, was delicious. Then dessert. Then sweets. The prix fixe is 47 euros, it's on the expensive side and this is definitely a restaurant for a special occasion but you pretty much get 7 courses for that !

Their degustation menus make this a good option for a nice meal in the enter of Reims while keeping costs reasonable. On the weekends, they offer a €35, 3-course menu, or €54, 5-course menu (plus an amuse and some small sweets at the very end). Its a modern interior, and all the dishes present well. Not everyone speaks English, but enough people do that I didn't have to rely solely on my terrible French. We did the 5 course menu, and my boyfriend absolutely loved his food - more than Les Crayeres! As a vegetarian, I was not overly impressed with the food, but the presentation was lovely and service was good. And the waiters all acknowledged that I was vegetarian from the moment we sat down, so I really appreciated that. And it wasn't like my food was bad, it just wasn't great. Their bread and salted local butter was incredible, and we each loved the soup that started the meal. (His was a cream soup with some kind of fish, mine was asparagus cream). He loved the black angus, and he also had a seared tuna dish that was perfectly prepared. Dessert was excellent, of course. They don't do wine pairings but have a number of wines available by the glass and made some nice recommendations for us. The wine list for bottles was extensive, and of course there's plenty of lovely champagne.

Really quiet, contemporary and delicious menu and hidden gem in Reims. Waiters have great attention to detail, they regularly check on you and are super helpful with those that don't speak French. The good was incredible. I had the sea bass with roasted potatoes and mushrooms. My partner had the sweetbread, which he said was delicious going down. We didn't really know what it was until the morning, but he was glad he tried it. We were given small tasties, bread, and to start we had smoked salmon with panna cotta as well as creme brûlée to finish. We shared both the starter and dessert which the restaurant was fine with. Great service, amazing food, great for a family dinner, business dinner for a small group.

Had one amazing dinner there, atmosphere superb loved the silence and good talk with your company. Wine list very good, especially I like that they have outstanding selection of half bottles so that you can try many during one dinner. And the food is to die for - the best steak with mushrooms I've ever had.

Frog legs. Found multiple shards of bone which I had to pick out of my mouth. Meat was chewy and under seasoned.

Just returned from what was my worst meal in France over the last three weeks. I'm shocked at the 40 euros I paid EACH for my entree and my main course considering both weren't even cooked properly. The entree was frog legs - the meat was chewy and under-seasoned and I had to pick shards of bones out of my mouth multiple times. The main was even more disappointing. The John Dory fillets were woefully over cooked - completely dry with tough, rubbery skin. They were accompanied by a rectangular piece of almost-raw sweet potato that contained sometimes-sandy escargot. I didn't even get dessert and my portion of the bill was 102 euros for these two abysmal dishes and some okay white wine. Shockingly disappointing and not at all worth the exorbitant price.

    Some wine we enjoyed!

This is exactly the kind of brasserie you hope to stumble into in the middle of Reims. It's right on Place Drouet d'Erlon with a big, lively terrace facing the Subé fountain. That means it gives off great people-watching vibes, although in December it was too chilly to dine outside. The atmosphere of the restaurant hits that sweet spot between cozy, rustic, and modern. It feels relaxed but still polished, like a place that knows what it's doing without trying too hard. The tables are packed too closely together, which was a nice change as to the European norm. We were able to enjoy our dinner and conversation without touching elbows with fellow guests. To be fair, we were dining at an "off" time, so it wasn't very busy. Your mileage may vary if you visit during the popular dinner hours. The staff were genuinely welcoming, especially to foreign visitors, which honestly stands out by French standards. English menus were available, service was friendly and easygoing, and nothing felt rushed. We were greeted warmly by the host, who immediately started speaking to us in English (how do they ALWAYS KNOW?!). We still tried to speak some French to him, which he appreciated. I swear attempting to converse in the local language does wonders when you're a tourist in Europe! The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, and we had some excellent cocktails along with a solid house wine (typical in France) that set me back a whopping 5 Euros LOL. My hubby's cocktail was beautifully presented and garnished with dried fruit, and it was nice and strong. Even the bread basket deserves a shout out for the simple, fresh, and very snackable crusty, sliced baguette. Food-wise, everything was quite tasty. My snail-loving hubby said the escargots (9 Euros for a half dozen) were plump, garlicky, and perfectly done. He never, ever passes up the chance to order this dish whenever we are in France, and he really raved about these. I opted for the Salmon Amandine (24 Euros), which was served with a cider and mustard sauce and butter mashed potatoes. My fish was flavorful and well-cooked, and the portion was quite large. My husband went with a steak and potatoes dish, which he said was rich and satisfying. The potatoes were fried in what tasted like duck fat, and everything was well seasoned. Even by American standards, the portions were huge. These are definitely generous brasserie-style plates, so much so that we skipped on dessert (and the selections sounded incredible). For escargots, salmon, beef, a cocktail, glass of wine, bottled water, and all that atmosphere, we paid about €80, which felt like a great deal for the quality and location. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. I would definitely recommend Le Tablier to visitors in the area. It's a great choice for a casual, fun meal with tasty drinks right in the heart of Reims.

The downside is that the service was very very slow. It took us 40 minutes to get desserts which seemed annoying as what should've been a quick dinner lasted about 2 hours.

I took the waiter's recommendation for the pouilly fuisse and nibbled on an amuse bouche while perusing thé menu. Perfect - crisp and refreshing. I settled on the fixed price menu and was delighted with my selection. First course was lox with a beet salad. Perfectly cubed beets lightly dressed and nice pieces of salmon. For the main, I had pork with wild rice. The plate was hot and the portion was generous. Delicious. Dessert - a pistachio eclair. Wildly good. Sometimes the pastry can be slightly soggy - this one crackled under the fork. The filling was plentiful and the tartness of the fresh raspberries paired well. A delightful meal.

The resto is " large " in that there is a downstairs and an upstairs seating area. We were seated upstairs. The styling and decor are quite nice and they added to the ambiance. The staff downstairs knew English. The wait staff assigned to our table did not. However, her English was much better than my high school French by leaps and bounds! Needless to say, we were able to order our food. We ordered the 3-course menu, but started with oysters. The oysters were the star of the meal followed by the chicken. I really liked the soup - it tasted like butternut squash but I'm not sure. Enjoy!
