Nice spot to have dinner at Le lavandou, right across from the beach and with a terrasse. The…read moreservers are nice and friendly, and the deco is of an eccentric Thai theme. All was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. My one gripe would be that menu was kind of all over the place. You had moules frites, filet mignon de porc, and Thai curry chicken all on one menu. I mean, again this could be considered a good thing as there was a rather diversion selection to choose from. You pretty much have to order a fixed price menu (starter+main or main+ dessert or all three), as the prices for the courses alone were kind of out of control. The starters were at like 15€ each! And most of the mains were around 16/17 or so, so for 3 euros more you got a dessert included. Anywho, everything was fresh and homemade and the dessert menu was quite original. I have to point out that my meal arrived at some point between room temperature and cold, which annoyed me. So I have to dock off at least one star for that.

We opted for a tapas style sampling of small plates: a hearty red tuna and langaston ceviche, a homemade fois gras that was among the best I've ever had, tender and rich warm artichoke hearts coupled with lardons, a simple and breathtakingly gorgeous burata (imagine a sack made of tender mozzarella filled with a creamy light curd-like cheese), and a cabinets served with hot and crusty bread. A feast of all the senses. Skip the bay side food factories and treat yourself to an authentic French culinary treat.

Our choice was deep-fried courgette flower, marinaded anchovy and salmon tartar - FANTASTIC! For Main Course we shared a rib of beef - perfectly medium done. Outsight seared, inside tender! Perfect. Also we had the beef tarter - great - and the lamp chops - also perfect. The dishes were served with perfect, crispy fries! The restaurant is at place des lices the most French place in St. Tropez. In the evening you can watch a boule game - there is nearly every time someone who plays boule - Fantastic. I just love this restaurant!

Furthermore, I spotted a table of two Asian girls that were being treated rudely as well so I have a suspicion that the server was racist against Asians, but that was not the worst of it. We ordered their chicken and what came out was a disgrace to French cuisine. There was a large portion of it raw and what was not raw was over cooked and tough to eat. Our overall experience was worsened as when we told the server of the raw chicken, she first told us it was cooked, and after looking at it, she brought only the piece that was raw back to the chef and they cooked that singular piece and brought it back to us. If that does not scream unprofessional, I do not know what does. Please do not come to this institution that should be shut down because they obviously do not know how to cook.
