Both locals and students from around the world seem to be drawn to this place like cows to a salt lick. However, that makes the bar that much better. However, just keep in mind that the later it gets, the more crowded the bar is which can make getting a table (which are already at a premium) or a quick drink a near impossible feat.

Cozy is really the best way to describe it, but it's not cramped at all. We sat up at the bar and met Vince, the owner/bartender, and over the course of about 2 hours we kabitzed with Vince and simply chatted about France in general, soccer (there was a screen behind the bar showing a soccer match), American football, music, you name it. Vince has got an interesting collection of Star Wars items sprinkled around here and there, and simply created a nice place for people to just come in, imbibe, and sit to chat with friends. This was a memorable spot on our 10-day tour of France, and we loved it here so much that we'll go out of our way to go back for a visit next time we're in the French Riviera.
