But a note to management: In our mid-70's, we found the bathtub/shower to be quite dangerous: (1) Shower is in a bathtub with rounded edges at the floor and very slick bathtub bottom; (2) No grabrail in the bathtub/shower. Quite dangerous for older people. Also: Our King room came with a chaise lounge. I would have much preferred a simple upholstered chair; perhaps with a footstool.

I'm unsure of the prices, as I'm staying for work but the amenities seem pretty good for the price, the parking lot is large and offers room for any person bob-tailing. It's next to a Verizon, half a block from an amazing Mexican restaurant, in front of a Walmart, and Goodwill. I don't see how anyone could be unhappy with all of that at your fingertips. The rooms are clean, spacious, maintained (for the most part. I have crumbling and broken tile in the bathroom, some full tiles have popped up) decently, there are no erroneous hairs, no dust, the AC/HEAT works wonderfully and the front desk staff was very friendly. The only thing missing is a decent view. Would stay here again.

The Christmas decorations in town and the small town atmosphere made this a really nice weekend getaway. Cons: 25 stairs to get up to rooms so only book if you're physically able to do so. No street parking between 2-6am so we had to attempt to find parking in a very crowded lot (lots of events going on around us) or would have had to go out late at night to move the car to parking. Building & Rooms Lobby and breakfast area were clean and modern. As with most Hampton's there was a small snack shop with a good selection of hot and cold items. Breakfast was great with a variety of choices each morning. Pool was typical for the hotel size and located right next to the elevators. Pool area was clean with a rest room attached. Only concerns were the lack of a hot tub and a limited supply of towels next to the pool on both stays at the hotel. Room quality was excellent. The only issue experienced is that one of the rooms did not have a functional outlet/charger port next to the TV. Staff & Service Probably one of the friendliest staffs I've experienced at a Hampton in recent years. Staff were knowledgeable about the local area and happily provided recommendations. We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

A couple of offerings that we didn't use, but might be of interest to others included a business center and a snack bar that also offered beer and wine. Breakfast was quite expansive, and offered items that are usually found in higher-priced hotels, such as homemade biscuits and sausage gravy! I dealt mostly with Donna, who was very accommodating and helpful in a stressful time when she seemed to be the only person working. She managed to keep breakfast stocked (a typical eggs and sausage affair) as well as manage the desk. My room was nice and left little room for complaint. On that note, the internet was very slow at times but overall that was not an issue.
