Found out they had a vegan burger they were happy to customize however I liked too (I got the truffle sauce ). Delicious! While I sat outside to enjoy the view I saw someone drop and shatter a beer glass. Alan, (who was amazing taking my order) came outside and insisted to the gentleman who dropped the glass not to worry at all and that he would grab him another glass. He cleaned up the mess and continued to be the same kind, happy and generous person he was before taking care of everyone. Can't say enough nice things about him and the rest of the staff there! I hope to make it back to Zermatt again soon cause' I'll definitely go back to the Blue Lounge when I do!

So being totally intimidated by the slopes, I decided to park it at Blue Lounge and enjoy a few glasses of Rose and lunch. Wow! The food was yummy and pours of wine way more generous than any other mountain restaurant I visited on my trip here. The views are life changing epic! What a blessing to be there and enjoy the sunshine on this winter day. Lovely!!! So lovely! It is located at a great spots between the slopes there were tons of boarders and skiers. If you feel Iike really relaxing, there are sun lounges and couches. It's a gorgeous spot, my friends.

Tl;Dr So good we spent 2 of our 3 nights in this lovely town at BIS for dinner…read more My wife and I were staying in Montreux for 3 nights. On the first night we ate at our hotel restaurant and it was good. For the second night we were looking for something a little more local after a recommendation from our hotel bartender we found BIS. After a leisurely stroll down the riviera we found nestle avenue and walked up it to BIS. If you don't want to walk up a bit of a steep hill take the street above and not the river walk. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner owner who took our drink order and walked is through the menu. We've eaten at michilen starred restaurants a and the food we had at BIS was on par with those experiences. If you're looking for a quick bite and to be out quickly this is not the place for you however, if you want the authentic french inspired 3 hour dining experience you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend the Dover sole, Burrata, graspacho, and anything on the specials menu. For any Americans the service is typical of the area if you need a refill or to order something else simply flag down a waiter as they'll only come check on your drink levels occasionally. I can't recommend this place enough and hope to visit again in the future! We are here 2 out of 3 nights and would go a third if we had found it earlier.

Funky Claude's is one of the numerous eating/drinking establishments within the Fairmont Montreux,…read morebut outside of the lobby lounge, it's the main bar that is focused more on providing beverages of the adult variety vs. food. The lounge itself has an external entrance from the street; if you are staying at the hotel, you have to walk through the Jazz Cafe (a little awkward) before reaching the back. There's definitely a huge change in vibe depending on when you are here...on a Friday night, Funky Claude's was hopping, with a live pianist playing all different kinds of tunes (not just jazz), and all of the tables and seats at the bar occupied. On a Sunday night, however, the bar was starkly empty - there were 1 or 2 other people in the bar with us at the same time. Despite this, it felt like the staffing was the same at both times, which meant that while we were decently looked-after on Sunday, it was difficult to get attention for a refill on drinks and to close out our check after getting our initial order in on Friday. As for the menu itself...we only ate one item of food here besides the bar snacks (which were largely nuts-based), as the food otherwise seemed to (generally) resemble what could be found in the Jazz Cafe. What we did have was the creme brulee, and that tasted excellent - the rum was burned to just the right level of crispiness on the surface, infusing a bit of sweetness while maintaining a hint of the kick from the booze. As for the drink selection - the beer selection is light, while I'm sure there is a decent wine selection. Given the scarcity of cocktail bars, though, this was what I focused on drinking here - and on balance, the cocktails were solid (if priced at a level that was even pricey for a New Yorker). The namesake drink is basically a sweeter version of a mojito with a touch of absinthe - very drinkable and fun, although the brown sugar can be a bit much sometimes. My favorite was probably the L'Enfin'delle, which was a competition cocktail (according to the menu) but drank almost like juice - until you had the alcohol hit you a little later. Some folks might think it's too sweet, but I really enjoyed the smoothness and the interplay of the flavors. I did try one of the numerous G&Ts on the menu; it was quite nice as well - the tonic was certainly lighter than what I am used to encountering, while the gin wasn't too overpowering either. It came off as a light, summery take on a standard cocktail - very seasonally appropriate. While the service could be a bit better, and the price is a bit steep (but it's Switzerland - so that's a given), I enjoyed the visits I paid here, and I would definitely stop by again for a late-night visit.
