My Fisher-Paykel dishwasher had not been working for 3 months all because the Sears Home Warranty company couldn't get out of their own corporate way to find a decent repair company to fix the washer. Fisher-Paykel is more temperamental than most other appliances but very good. While Sears argued with their repair provider about the parts needed and the high cost of the repair, I called Le Grand. Because they're small, they're busy and it took a week before they could respond but they fixed the dishwasher on the very first visit and without the need for additional parts. The repairman, Rene, was sharp and professional. His name tag should read "Professor of Fisher-Paykel" because he knew more than any other repairman thats been to my home for this appliance and there have been too many repairs needed. He went through an extensive systems and mechanical check finding the problem to be simply a pin hole in a water supply hose. To make the official repair would have further delayed use of the machine and cost several hundred dollars so he spliced the hose and sealed both ends well. He operated the washer in several modes to be certain all was working fine and showed me how to use it the Fisher-Paykel way which would extend the life of the machine and avoid future break-downs. He even cleaned the machine and pointed out something I should do to make it work more efficiently. Good-Bye to the Sears Home Warranty and hello to Le Grand whom I'll be calling for all my appliance problems in the future. You get what you pay for but in this case, the price was very reasonable in comparison to the outstanding service.
Now for what changed my 5 star rating to 2........I still say that if you need work on a "Fisher-Paykel", call for Rene BUT if you need work on a GE Monogram under the counter ice maker go directly to the Monogram people. Since Rene did so well on my Fisher-Paykel, I called them to repair my ice machine but they sent a different repairman. After a couple months and close to $700 of throwing parts at what they thought was wrong, my ice maker still makes the same noise it did when I first called for repair and still NO ICE. They had no problem holding onto my money even though they didn't repair the problem. No guarantee here so stay away..........unless you need Rene. read more
