My dear wife has been "harassing" me for months... We have to go to "le fruit défendu" it's the best place yadayadayada...
Last night it was THE night not only did we have the right company around but more importantly they had a table available. Because one thing about this very cute restaurant is it's tiny. They pack it full every night. A table for 3 seats 3, a table for 4 seats 4 etc... Every square cm is accounted for. The remaining space is the bare minimum for the waiting staff to walk around. The décor is simple but it works, it's an open (very open) kitchen so the chef shares the dinner experience with his guests. This does have a negative consequence is that it can get a little hot.
There are a couple of tables outside but just like inside, tiny....
Now for the menu. It's a 6 appetizer, 6 main courses, 6 deserts... And they apparently change every day, as the chalkboard menu is entitled "Aujourd'hui". The presentation of the menu is a poem in itself the two ladies who work the dinning room have a real talent to tell the stories behind every dish, so after reading the menu chances are you will change your mind. My advice is that everyone of your dinner party orders something different (not to bther the chef) but to make sure you get to taste that other main course which was soooo appealing:-) The cuisine is very refined and undoubtedly based on excellent raw product. Seasoning, balance in tastes is great! I simply say bravo! At my table there was foie gras, porklet medaillos, veal, flounder, seabass... And everthing was outstanding. The deserts are also a treat if you are still hungry as the servings are very decent.
Now remember the golden rule NO RESERVATION=NO TABLE ..... read more
