Came here on two nights. On Sunday, it crowded with a first communion outside and a wedding reception inside, about 40 people for each. Despite that, we got a table outside and pretty good service from the waiter. My husband got a pizza (fine), while I got the fava bean veloute with roasted chicory (excellent) and the pistacchio pasta (very good). We came back Monday, expecting it to be quieter, but it was even more busy, with two or three children's birthday parties. This time, the waiters were running around like crazy and it took over an hour for our food to come out. The food was a a disappointment this time: Strascinati di Sant'Antonio had an oily and lightly spicy flavor in the sauce from the nduja, and the strascinati were heavy like gnocchi. The tagliata di pollo was a basic chopped chicken cutlet drizzled with balsamic vinegar and shredded cheese -- it felt like the invention of a hungry college student.
I feel bad, because there are some gems in the menu and the chef seems to put effort into making them. But they are overwhelmed by the huge children's parties every night that only order pizza and croquettes. They need more waiters and a better division between the big parties and the individual diners. read more
