Plateau royal for two! 6 extra oysters added
    Sofia H.

Great place to enjoy a delicious seafood platter. We choosed to try plateau the royal for 2 and it was so big! Contained a great selection of all the seafood you can ever imagine - lobster, 2 whole crabs, sea snails , mini sea snails, clams, 12 oysters, prawns, langoustines etc. Everything was very fresh and delicious except for the langoustines that were quite dry and not very tasteful. I would say that the platter was well enough for three to share. The service was OK, we had to wait for a while before we was even asked to order, felt a little bit like they had forgot about us since we were sitting in one of the booths in the back. We had two starters, plateau royal for two and a bottle of Chablis and we ended up paying €200, great value for the money.

Overall good and quick service (could be nicer also with the clients that do not order champagne). Fresh food and generous portions

But on the advice of a friend, I pushed the door. Even if Antigone II Gonatas said: "Keep me from my friends, my enemies, I take care of it", sometimes you have to listen to your friends. The interior is not particularly exciting. But as there is the view of the port, as much put on the edge of the window (or on the terrace when the weather is good). Obviously we take much less advantage of the harbor view at night in winter! Let's have a look at the menu since we came here to eat. The choice will obviously be on local products, we did not come to Trouville to eat a sauerkraut! The mackerel fillets are a nice presentation, excellent, even if the vinegary background was a bit powerful. The whipped cream with the pommé of Auge was a little lost. At the beginning of the day, an elegant velvety scallops and truffle oil. But our chef seems to have forgotten the basics of presentation of whole fish: always head to the left. But as the cooking is perfect, the excellent taste (a little normal, we are at the edge of the sea!), everything is fine. A little bit of presentation work for the salmon and sea bream tartare, with some pomegranate seeds. Small weakness for caramel cabbage which, if it tastes good, if it is well worked with a cracker, is too soft in the dough. Made in advance and kept refrigerated, it has therefore captured moisture and is soft under the tooth. Pity. The beautiful feature of Pavillon Augustine is to offer a wine cellar quite exceptional for the place. In addition to the base list, already quite well stocked, it has several great vintage wines that would not expect in this kind of establishment. The cherry on the cake, the boss of the restaurant, Arnaud, is very cool while being professional. He embellishes his menu with little hints of humor. He knows how to respond respectfully and with teasing to the comments of bad coaters on TripAdvisor. Check of 150,80 euros for two.

An old lady, presumably the owner, directed us to a table of 4. We had to wait for 10 minutes before she finally give us menu cards. The kids options being limited and being not so hungry, we finally order 2 full course menu that we ask to share between the 3 of us (including the 7 y/o). The old lady brutally then said to us to leave. Just like this. I then tried to understand and she said that "she is not working for free". The restaurant was not full with some tables free, so I asked why such a behaviour ? That it was not making sense at all as the restaurant was not full. She then said that she has just received a booking for a table of 4, indeed we were at the last table of 4. She then said that this is normal for her to kick us out as "we are not eating". In all my life I never encountered a person so rude. That's beyond comprehension. As I was arguing she started insulting us. I took care of recording the discussion and arguments, including insults. Anyone interested can contact me.
