A brasserie in the true sense, this is a brew-pub serving four of its own beers alongside the usual…read moredrinks.
The beers are a Blond (a bit like bitter, made with Kentish hops), Brunne (in the Belgian style), Ambree (a flavoursome golden amber beer) and Blanche (a fresh, wheat beer in the German style). All are excellent, and you can buy bottles to take away too.
The bar itself has a pavement cafe area, with tables and bar service inside and a bar area upstairs for use when they are very busy. You can see the brewery equipment through large glass windows, with some of the kit in the bar itself.
Food is limited to several varieties of 'Flammenkuchen', slices of thin German-style pizza (or a bit like quiche, depending on how you see it).
Very good service from friendly and efficient staff. Recommended.
