Marois's clothing truly works of functional art. Engaging with the tailor himself who made the clothing along with his "collaborator," Marielle, was just such a joy and, frankly, a privilege. And, yes, I bought four shirts with just one regret: I was also admiring the pants but just did not have the time to start trying them on. Last point: I am the proverbial clothes horse who appreciates high quality clothing, whether Cucinelli or Zegna, and I am telling you Bertrand Marois's work is truly special. This cozy store in Old Quebec is a one-stop shop for souvineers and all things Quebec. But not Quebec in the kitschy way, think artisan products made by local artists ranging from feather hair pieces and wool socks for men to fur everything and hand painted magnets. The good: even balance of offerings for both males and females. The bad: slightly on the pricey side but you have to keep in mind these are not mass produced items.

I felt similar earmuffs at other shops, and none felt as soft as the ones I got from Bilodeau. After walking around the city for 2 days in February I realized I had not brought proper footwear and then went on a search. I visited Bilodeau a 2nd time and tried on a pair of boots that did not fit. At no time did I feel pressured by the manager and she was so helpful. I continued to look for boots at various stores without luck. As we were walking by Bilodeau again, I noticed a pair of boots displayed in the window I had not seen. The store was closed, but the manager was inside and saw us. She opened up for us, was so patient as I tried on two pair of boots and I was able to buy the perfect pair. I even forgot my mittens and had to knock again on the door - which she opened laughingly and gave me my mittens. Yes, the price is high, but you get what you pay for. I will have these boots and earmuffs forever - the quality is that good. The manager went above and beyond. Highly recommend.
