Les Mesanges happened to be around the corner from where we were staying in Paris, and we couldn't have been happier for it. We had three meals there and happily would have had many more if we'd stayed longer. The food was superb - far better quality than you'd think for the very reasonable prices and casual atmosphere. While there we managed to try: Lamb sweetbreads with carrots, Linguine, Steak and Frites, Squash Soup, Creme Brûlée, some other amazing dessert I can't recall the name of, and a sort of pot roast and mashed potato dish. And also, lots of wine and beer (which is also very reasonably priced!) The staff is super friendly (several of them spoke excellent or at least passing English) and the clientele is cool without feeling pretentious. Absolutely loved the spot and would highly recommend. We ordered champagne as aperitifs and poisson tartare as an appetizer - it was fantastic. For our main dishes, the lamb was tender and very flavorful. The Thai-style beef was incredible and well prepared. The recommended wine paired perfectly. For dessert, we ordered espresso and the dessert board. Everything was delicious and new to us. An amazing way to explore French cuisine. A good price for a full French dinner on the town, including wine and other drinks. Can't wait to come back and visit!
