Without exaggerating, this is one of the nicest B&Bs I've ever stayed at…read more
We stayed two nights in the Orangerie, the cottage. It's gorgeous. A spacious sunroom provides views of the lawns, garden and the old house (which is the main hotel). The bedroom couldn't be more comfortable, and beyond that, the bath is huge and well-appointed--an enormous shower, a bathtub, even a sauna.
Both mornings, the traditional French breakfast was fresh and more than we could eat--come hungry! Served to us in the sunroom, there was a hot dish, fresh yogurt, tarts, croissants and bread, and of course juice, coffee and tea to order.
The location is a ten-minute walk into Honfleur itself, and has gated (walled, actually) parking. Bring a small car. It's completely quiet, just birds singing in the trees on the property. In early May we slept with the windows open, no insects.
The hosts are gracefully and gracious, easy to communicate with, helpful with recommendations (and tips on restaurants to avoid). It's easy to see why Maison du Parc has won so many accolades, yet the prices are very reasonable. Maison du Parc is a wonderful find if you're visiting Honfleur or need a base for your Normandy excursions!
