We didn't get a great welcome, the hostess was not rude, but not friendly and welcoming either. She handed us over to a waitress, and she just started walking to the back of the restaurant and seated us at a small table, more suited for a couple rather than three adults and a child who needed a child seat even if the restaurant was quite empty. Then another waitress came and gave us the menu, but forgot all about us, so we had to go and get her so that we could order, and finally a third waitress came with our food.
I ordered a carbonara, my dad the risotto, and my wife a chicken dish (don't remember the name). When we got the food I was really disappointed. The carbonara was dry and tasteless with a thick "sauce". The risotto was not what you think of when you order a risotto, specially if you have eaten risotto in Italy. It was more like a rice dish and not with risotto-rice, more like Uncle Ben's. Unfortunately the risotto wasn't any good either. My dad took the carbonara I had ordered and I took his risotto. My wife on the other hand was satisfied with her chicken dish, but complained about the baked potatoes.
Now in all fairness, this was our first time in Polen, so maybe it was a Polish risotto and that's the way they do risotto in Poland. But then again, you should at least know how to season the food.
But for me a carbonara should be a carbonara otherwise call it something else.
But all said and done, I could have lived with the poor quality of the food if the service was great, but unfortunately they didn't even get that right and it wasn't like the restaurant was crowded. Non of our waitresses bothered asking us how our food was.
On their TripAdvisor page it says "Italian food", but this wasn't even close. I've had both carbonara and risotto in Italy and other European countries, and of course it's never as good as in Italy, but in most cases it's good, or at least acceptabel, but this was ways off.
