The dinner is astonishing and the breakfast is to die for! Everything is homemade and the chef has worked with renowned people. I'm just waiting for the new rooms to be built next to the actual building because some of the rooms need a bit of refreshment (like having a better quality of TV). The wifi works fine though.

Loved this place! I've been coming to Le Tour (just up the road form Argentiere) for years and this…read morehas to be one of the best meals I've had in the Argentiere area. The place is tastefully decorated with an inviting alpine feel. There is the option to go al la carte or choose one of their set menus which start at €59 for 4 courses. We went for the winter menu. To start I had the foie gras, always a favourite! Served with homemade bread. For main, the filet which I opted to have with the hollandaise sauce and triple cooked chips. The steak was amazing, so tender and the sauce perfect. This was then followed by a cheese selection then dessert, a chocolate mille feuille which was beautifully presented and tasted really good. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than lots of the Argentiere restaurants (although no more than the posher Chamonix places) but it's definitely worth it and I'd highly recommend a visit!

So we said we'd come back in half an hour and moved our car closer as it was freezing. Apparently this place is the Go-To place for Fondue and gets pretty freaking busy. There were already tables reserved with pieces of paper on the table when we got there. Crazy right? We sat down again after coming back and decided to get drinks as it's apparently frowned upon if you just ask for water. We opted for hot tea (Lipton Yellow Label for 3.60 Swiss Francs). Then we ordered the mushroom fondue (Fondue aux bolets - 27-ish Swiss Francs). The bill for the drinks came in this tiny bucket. Apparently at the end they take this and add it to what you've ordered in terms of food. I guess it's in case you want more drinks or more food then they can keep track as they probably get busy. The bread first came out and then the melty pot of hot cheesy goodness. The cheese was a bit on the salty side and very gooey initially. The bread complimented it very well. After a while, the cheese got to a thick almost mozzerella-ish consistency which meant eat fast otherwise it's going to be hard. The bill was a bit weird though...or more like how we got change. The waiter went to a purse and pulled out a wallet where he got change. I guess it's the owner's but it's like they don't have a cash register at all, just something that totals bills. Pretty interesting... For my first cheese fondue, it was delicious. It would definitely be a treat once in a while.
