We stumbled into the town en route to candlelit Saturday night at Vaux le Vicomte (the navette picks up just across the square). The signs past new management Andre had a rockstar dinner for 48 Euros. The chef trained in the UK and is a master of fresh ingredients. He serves what us fresh and does it unassumingly and beautifully. We started with a avocado and shrimp salad and fresh asparagus, then had veal stew and scorpion fish and finished with panna cotta and Apple pie. Lovely staff, who are super friendly. The place looks new and I would love for them to succeed. Make a stop--I promise it's worth your trip and it is leaps and bounds fresher (and cheaper) than a meal you'd find in Paris!

I always ordered the duck for my main course, which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It's cooked to crisp perfection. I love love love duck and this is the best that I had anywhere (other than perhaps Peking Duck in Beijing but that is something totally different). And for dessert, the profiteroles are my favorite dessert anywhere in the world. They are huge and filled with ice cream rather than cream, and lots of ice cream, not just that BS scoop that you get other places, and smothered in hot fudge. Yum!!! Oh how I miss living in France sometimes...
