Wonderful experience. I showed up around 830am and the owner let me check in early. Nice, updated facilities for such an old, beautiful house. I got a great rate compared to other places nearby. The owner was very friendly and was patient with me as we spoke in French. Not five stars because it wasn't easy communicating in French for me. This shouldn't affect my review except for almost everywhere else in town folks speak French for the sake of tourists. Didn't try the breakfast. read more

I stayed at Le Castel in April 2025. After an initial misunderstanding about payment method (they do not accept Amex), they reached out to me and we arranged to pay again with a Visa card. I subsequently discovered that my Visa card had been charged twice. Despite many attempts to contact them about this via email and phone, including having my sister who is fluent in French write to them several times, they have completely ignored me. read more

The house itself has a beautiful exterior, however the interior was less than par. The first room we were given we only stayed in for 20 minutes as they had given us the incorrect room. We were then moved to another room that was also not worth the amount asked for a night. The room temperature could not be controlled by the individuals within the room, so we were cold all night and one of the windows would not close fully. The bed was not clothes with sufficient blankets as well. The younger owner was extremely rude and blamed us for getting their reservations incorrect. A very unwelcoming way to spend the night in such a magnifique ancient ville. read more

Outstanding Bed & Breakfast This establishment was taken over by new owners this year. We stayed 3 nights. The location was easy to find and within walking distance to all of Bayeux. There was free parking available right around the corner. When we arrived we were greeted by Christophe with a warm smile and a pleasantness I had not ever experienced before in any hotel. We were shown to our room and we were more than pleased with the accommodations. It was a clean, spacious room with a balcony and a over sized bathroom with a very large shower. The mattress and bedding were very comfortable. We hadn't slept so well in a very long time. We could open the doors to the balcony for a great breeze. At night the traffic dies down and it is a very peaceful. In the morning we came down to a very beautiful set table with all the fresh bread, jams, fruits and much more. It was a great start to the day. Everything was just perfect and you can't beat the price. You could not ask for a better bed & breakfast. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the Normandy area. read more
