We checked out their website this evening and were happy to see that they offered service "everyday from 8 am to 11:45 pm". Their menu looked extensive and my husband was excited to try the seafood.
When we arrived at this bar/brasserie/restaurant around 6:15 pm entering through the vinyled side entrance as per the sign on their door a very casually dressed man who I assumed worked at the restaurant greeted us. After asking him in French for a table for four he asked "pour manger?" to which I replied "oui" he said in English "we don't serve food until after 7 pm." He was short with us and did not offer any other options. Other people were sitting at tables; we were not offered that option.
I'm not one to assume ulterior motives, but I felt very uncomfortable and suspicious that things were not on the up and up. My radar for discrimination was starting to ping. We left and found a more welcoming place. If the restaurant truly does not serve food until after 7 pm they need to make that clear on their website. read more
