Yet, it somehow manages to pull all this off without being kitschy, probably because everything is real and much of it is signed by actual pilots! Les deux tours qui veillent sur l'entrée, la tour Saint Nicolas et la tour de la Chaîne, témoignent de ces temps troublés où l'on craignait les attaques ennemies. Aujourd'hui le port est devenu un port de plaisance autour duquel les Rochelais viennent se promener.
