They were happy to help us even though we spoke no French beyond "merci". They helped us with the wine selection and getting our food. We had the escargot, which was amazing! Definitely get it. Also, the beef tartare was the best we had during our time in Paris. During the entire meal, the waiters didn't stop moving through the restaurant, making sure everyone was well taken care-of. We definitely got the feeling that the is a neighborhood bistro that we happened to walk into. If we are ever in the neighborhood again, go and eat here. Also, don't know why this is tagged closed. Just ate there....

There are a plentiful amount of tables, but only one or maybe two waiters, but don't worry, they get to you quickly to take your order and O was impressed at how quickly the food arrived after ordering. The four in our group all loved our food, which ranged from the herring in oil, kids burgers, chicken with cream sauce, salad or a side of green beans. They were all great. We were excited to recognize locals eating here. It was a great lunch and I topped it off with an espresso to help me adjust from the time difference for my trip and couldn't recommend this place any more.

The bar lineup is premium, well considered and quite superior. I had a first rate eau de vie ... Etter Vieux Prune. This is literally the prune-iest beverage you will ever drink in your life. Most eau de vies are astringent and put up a fight. This is warm comforting and mellow. Your doctor tells you to get more prunes? This is DEFINITELY the way you want to do it! Share a glass with your doctor, and He or she will sign off on the new plan! * * * And if you don't like prunes, There is a lovely selection of other bottles, Plus an intriguing menu. Our French is quite limited, but the front of house lady (it's just her and the chef) was more fluent in English than she thought! The Pho was very filling and the broth was rich and flavorful without being heavy. Also tried the prawn dumpling soup and if my son could have locked the bowl, he would have. The younger children split the chicken with fried noodles, which sounds like a boring dish, but I was happy to eat the veggies they left behind it was so delicious. The bo bun sounds like a similar dish I find at Vietnamese restaurants in the US, but it was slightly different with the toppings and instead of pork fried rolls, they were chicken. Another delicious dish. Anyway, this is a hidden gem. Go eat here! Call ahead to reserve a table as it is tight and cozy inside. We lucked out and they had one table available.
