At the end of the meal he even offered us an umbrella as it was raining outside. Stand up hospitality. The restaurant itself is very cozy inside. We sat in front of the window and got in some good people watching. Nice wine list and even some awesome local craft beers. Food was spectacular and at a good price. All locals here. Because of Remi and his wife though, we never felt like "tourists," or out of place. As one review mentioned, don't let the lack of reviews deter you from coming here. Since we weren't hungry and the restaurant was across our hotel, we made this reservation. We took that time to enjoy views of the river and walk around Libourne. When we returned at the appointed time, our table was ready for us. We were offered the option to sit inside vs outside. Those sitting on the patio were enjoying the riverside views but a number of them needed to avail themselves of the red blankets provided by the restaurant for their outside diners. We opted for indoor seating. The menu features a good variety of appetizers including charcuterie platters, salads, foie gras, and seafood. We started with the sautéed squid which was tender and very flavourful. We also ordered the steak and salad, as well as a duet of veal and pork belly which came with a sweet potato purée and a mélange of vegetables. Both entrees came with a side of fries. The dishes were all beautifully plated. They have a great selection of wines featuring ones produced in Bordeaux. We had a glass of red wine from St Emilion. If you are staying in Libourne, I highly recommend making a reservation to dine here.

The salmon I ordered came served on bed of polenta with fresh veggies and nicely grilled leek. There wa an excellent veggie sauce. The salmon itself was excellent. Very much enjoyed the dish. The wife ordered a pasta with veggies. The mushrooms especially were superb. I was full after eating my dish but had to eat some of of hers it was so good. Finally we got an excellent tiramisu served with a side of chocolate crumbles and vanilla ice cream. I see most of the reviews are for lunch but i highly recommend staying in town and giving this a try'. This is my first time trying French red in France. Chipirons à la plancha was my appetizer and it could easily be my main dish. The portion was huge and there were like 30+ squid with head s beautifully grilled. It was so tasty. Salade de sud - ouest was my entree. They say be salad but no it is loaded by with protein - duck breast, patè, jambon and something else. It was again a big dish.
