We arrived on a late Sunday evening in Libourne. We didn't have a reservation so we were told to return at 9:45pm. Since we weren't hungry and the restaurant was across our hotel, we made this reservation. We took that time to enjoy views of the river and walk around Libourne.
When we returned at the appointed time, our table was ready for us. We were offered the option to sit inside vs outside. Those sitting on the patio were enjoying the riverside views but a number of them needed to avail themselves of the red blankets provided by the restaurant for their outside diners. We opted for indoor seating.
The menu features a good variety of appetizers including charcuterie platters, salads, foie gras, and seafood. We started with the sautéed squid which was tender and very flavourful. We also ordered the steak and salad, as well as a duet of veal and pork belly which came with a sweet potato purée and a mélange of vegetables. Both entrees came with a side of fries. The dishes were all beautifully plated.
They have a great selection of wines featuring ones produced in Bordeaux. We had a glass of red wine from St Emilion.
If you are staying in Libourne, I highly recommend making a reservation to dine here. read more
