I had my usual scotch, which was a very nice pour and my wife had a white wine. Both very nice. Our waiter, Teophane, was very friendly and casual. My attempts at French amused him. He suggested both calamari and razor clams as appetizers. Both were fantastic! Then for dinner, my wife had an amazing burger with fries -- just what she had been missing after a week in France! I had hake-- fish-- just great. After dinner, the owner treated us to a local brandy infused in-house with vanilla and caramel. Our waiter shared a glass with us. An absolutely wonderful touch! I agree with another reviewer that the "wow" just didn't appear for most dishes. My husband and I ordered a demi bottle of red wine, which was the perfect size for us, along with the full tasting menu. We explained our dietary preferences, and they were accommodated perfectly. Please refer to my pictures for the courses. I believe there were 2 that I missed (not pictured: duck and bread with curry butter)? My favorites were the artichoke soup and the roasted red pepper passion fruit sorbet. The soup was smoky and delicious! It didn't seem to go extremely well with the daikon and beet (?) crostini, but I really enjoyed the flavor and creaminess. BUT THE SORBET. WOWWWWW this was the best part of the meal for me! Just a spoonful was all it took for me to fall in love. Who knew that roasted red pepper and passion fruit would go together so well?? I can't describe how amazing this was. Everything else was just so-so for me, except for the service, which was stellar. I imagine the menu changes often, and I probably would return to try different courses. Overall, a nice place for a romantic dinner, and pretty good food.

This has got to be one of the greatest finds ever by Yelp…read more We were staying in Bordeaux proper and were looking for a place to eat near the airport since we dropped off our friends and still had time before our flight. Yelp led us to Le Bistrot de Capreyron in Merignac which is very close to the Bordeaux airport. Merignac is a very quaint, laid back area which is very different from the hustle and bustle in Bordeaux. We easily found street parking around the corner from LBC. The restaurant itself is nice and the staff are extremely helpful although none really spoke English and my French is pretty bad. The waitress was very nice though and brought out the Chef who was fluent in English to translate. We opted to go with the prix fixe menu on the chalkboard which was about 25 Euros per person for lunch. This came with an appetizer, entree and dessert. Of course being in wine country we split a nice bottle of white with our lunch. We went with a local wine and of course it was awesome and it was pretty cheap. They also brought out some complimentary olive tapenade with always amazing bread in France. As our dishes started coming out I was in absolute shock at how amazing the food was. The chef came out himself to explain each dish. For apps we had the Bahn bao (a variation of a banh mi) and melon carpaccio. Both were delicous but the presentation of the food was especially impressive. Then the big guns came out - The duck breast with polenta was exquisite, the best duck I had in France. The bass filet was incredible - crispy on the outside with an incredible savory sauce. This alone would have been an incredible meal but then the desserts came out. We had pear with sorbet and an eclair with ice cream. Are you freaking kidding me? 2 of the best deserts of our trip. Honestly, between the food, service, and ambiance this was one of the best meals of our trip but with the price being 25 euros a person for lunch? This had to be the steal of the century! Besides our meal at Le Cinq which was Michelin 3 star this was by far my favorite meal. If you are in Bordeaux, this is a perfect way to end your trip before you go to the airport. Thanks Yelp! there is no doubt I will return to LBC as it was an amazing experience.

On that beautiful spring Tuesday, we were able to sit on an outdoor covered table, breathing the extraordinarily beautiful and full St. Emilion air. We were a little early at noon, but the restaurant began to fill up as we shifted into standard lunchtime. We chose local wine by the glass, and went with the entree/plat prix fixe. I started with the foie gras, which was creamy, a large portion, and sprinkled with flecks of salt. My husband went with the butternut squash soup, which had a seared piece of foie gras right in the center. Both were really great. For my main course, I chose the entrecote (steak), which came with fries and a little salad. It was another huge portion that I couldn't finish. My husband had the duck breast with apples and eggplant, a seemingly strange combination that worked really well when executed. He also helped me eat some of the steak, because isn't marriage all about teamwork?

The menus are available in French and English and are written on large blackboards, which they bring to each table. We ordered several starters for the table, including a tomato dish with burrata and pesto, foie gras, and some charcuterie. Everything was delicious! For the main, I ordered the lamb dish for two people and shared it with someone else. It was a massive portion! Definitely a lot bigger than expected. It was cooked so nicely and was genuinely very, very tasty. All of the other dishes looked great as well, and everyone seemed to enjoy everything!

This place was no different. Small restaurant in the the small village of Saint Emilion outside of Bordeaux. Adorable. Great view. Delicious cheese Delicious wine. Friendly service even though we asked for something they don't serve during lunch. So why remove a star this time. I have to differentiate these wonderful places and my only complaint is you have a menu on the street but aren't serving everything on the menu at that time. It's odd. The menu on the street advertised a plate of farmed cheese but that was only a dinner option and we were there during lunch. Why advertise it then? Anyway, be forewarned and remember the current "carte" is what they give you at the table-not what they advertise at the street. Nevertheless, they did have a charcuterie board and they gave it to us with only cheese, and they offered it-we didn't even ask. You know what? 5 stars. I changed it before posting. I don't care if the rest of my review no longer makes sense. There's no reason to take a star away.
