Great food and service. Lovely ambiance. And the best value for any one star establishment anywhere. On top of all this, the price is very reasonable. Two words: Food Poisoning…read more My entire table was affected. We think it was the lamb dish the chef made for dinner. Technique was amazing for every plate. The food was plated beautifully like a piece of art. As expected of a Michelin Star restaurant, they met all the expectation and I was impressed. We had the 9 course meal, and starting from the welcome plate to the surprise dessert at the end, I was very happy and impressed. Then... Thing went south immediatrly. I personally had diarrhea in the evening, and then projectile vomiting the next day. I had to get on the train to London, and I missed it because I was dying in bed. We had to get a new set of tickets to London because we couldn't make it in time in the morning. My body was aching and in cold sweats. In the train, I was vomiting every 20 minutes. I couldn't even keep water or tea down. Sad to say, it was the worst train ride of my life. I got to the hotel in London, and after few more sessions in the bathroom, I passed out. I woke up later because I had dinner reservation at the Savoy, and I missed that as well. I was supposed to go to the Malty Market and the Borough too, but I missed that because I got sick from the restaurant. Overall, this experience caused by their lack of kitchen standard costed me money, loss of opportunities, and physical pain. This is just sad... I expected so much and things were going well during dinner.

Tres bon, Mon ami!…read more We had the loveliest time here; the host was the most friendly and jovial man in all of Paris. The food was excellent, fresh and well prepared. The headcheese was out of this world. Merci pour le magnifique diner, mon ami! Merci beaucoup!

We had a fantastic experience here from start to finish, largely thanks to the truly excellent…read moreservice. We arrived very early and were immediately taken care of. They escorted to a proper table in the bar (not a high-top or awkward corner, but a real table with comfortable cushioned seating). A waiter brought us drinks while we waited, and just as promised, our table was ready right on time. We opted for the fixed-course menu, which leans heavily toward seafood. Despite being a five-course meal, we left feeling perfectly satisfied rather than uncomfortably full. This kind of balance is harder to pull off than it sounds. A great example of this was the crab tart. I'll admit I was skeptical when I saw it on the menu; tarts often feel heavy to me. But this one completely changed my mind. The pastry shell was light and delicate, and it was generously filled with beautifully cooked, fresh crab. But everything on the menu was perfectly prepared and presented. The service really went above and beyond at the end of the night. When we had trouble getting a taxi back to our hotel, the hotel's staff noticed and offered us a complimentary ride in the hotel's house car. Totally unexpected and incredibly kind. A quick heads-up for winter visitors: those iconic Eiffel Tower views you see all over Yelp and online aren't really available when the patio is closed, and most interior tables don't have the view. And definitely make a reservation - this not a walk-in kind of place. All in all, exceptional food, thoughtful service, and a meal we're still talking about.

I went here last night having heard about this new pint-sized resto by word of mouth. It is very…read moresmall, with huge glass windows on the street side, and tempered blue walls on the interior. The décor is simple and clean, which is important for an establishment of such slight scale. The only eccentricity was a stuffed rooster perched on the bar who presided over the dining ceremonies with a watchful eye. The food was served on rustic mismatched plates of various styles and patterns. They reminded me of the kinds of treasures you might find at an antique broccante, or at your grandmother's house in the country. Starter #1: Hard boiled eggs with home-made mayonnaise The patron was very proud of the mayonnaise and rightly so. What I couldn't heap on each egg half, I scooped up with baguette so as not to miss a single drop. Really flavorful, full-bodied mayo. Starter #2: Burratina The baby burrata (which wasn't really that baby-sized at all) was served as a plump pouch, accompanied by lovely buttery salty toasts. The cheese itself was a little bland so the toasts served to enhance the flavor and provided a sturdy vehicle for the oozy inner cream of the burrata. Main #1: Tajine de boeuf I didn't try the tajine that my companion ordered so I can't make a comment. But judging from the hearty speed with which it was consumed, I'd say it went over well. Main #2: Salmon Sashimi The generous portion of quality salmon was dressed in a grainy mustard and dill vinaigrette, accompanied, quite surprisingly yet quite pleasantly, by a potato purée with a touch of nutmeg. The combination of textures and sweet and savory flavors made for a pleasant pairing. An improved spin on the usual fish and boiled potatoes duo. Dessert #1: Chocolate Mousse The chocolate mousse was dense and creamy, and peppered with crispy cookie flakes. I felt like I was a kid again getting to lick the coveted brownie batter bowl. Dessert #2: Petit Suisse The tangy sourness of the fromage blanc was enhanced by a generous drizzling of sweet, smooth caramel. I should also mention the bathroom, which had bright white tiled walls and a fully assembled toilet (you never know in Paris) and proper paper towels. I really must have been here too long if I think a toilet seat and paper towels are the epitome of luxury. As any new restaurant owner, the patron of Le Tout Petit comported himself with an endearing self consciousness about his fledgling business. In truth, he has nothing to worry about. The ambience and the quality of the food spoke for themselves. I eagerly look forward to eating here again.
