Inside it is cosy and the men toilet has definitely one of the nicest views (of all men toilets I have visited). The food is great and the only problem is that after the main course you really do want to have some of their incredible desserts even if you are already stuffed. The main courses are very good but/and voluminous. The steak tartare is a huge dish of fresh chopped raw meat. The wines are nice and the magnum (!) bottle of housewine is just under €60,- and a nice wine. The owners/staff are nice and the arrogance of some of their neighbours is lacking completely.

So on a sunny day you can watch the light aircraft (carrying celebs?) land and take off whilst you sip one of their delicious vin chaud. On a cold day it is a great place to stop and warm up. On Thursday evenings they do an evening meal followed by a torchlight descent for 90 euros! If you can't afford that, just call in for a beer and sit and people watch! In late January they usually have a polo tournament in the snow covered altiport which is worth a visit!

Cheese fondue looked great (apparently chef's special is the one to go for) I had the raclettes - pretty much a half a cheese slowly melting that you splot onto your fresh boiled spuds and basic salad. Avoid La Soucoupe (Courchevel)…read more The restaurant uses a misleading pricing practice: meat is charged per 100g, but this is not clearly explained upfront and not transparently listed on the menu. What looks like a normal dish turns into an unexpectedly expensive bill at the end. This lack of clarity feels intentional and leaves customers with a very unpleasant surprise. It's especially concerning in a tourist area, where visitors can easily be taken advantage of. Not worth it. Very disappointing experience

I believe the need to compete drives the quality high. The view is stupendous. We visited on a sunny day and like 90% of the patrons were outside on the deck. I had a chicken kabob and my wife had a vegetable/salad plate. Each a glass of wine. Food was good, not amazing, but the ambiance is what made the experience exceptional. Even inside, they cook some of the food over an open fire. Love the wood. We made a reservation to insure a spot and needed directions. I asked at a nearby chalet and it turns out the owner of that chalet was the husband of the owner of La Soucoupe, he said, "its my wife". And she was; charming and came around to check on us. It was the best of the 3 lunch places we at while skiing.
