I say this because in one of the pictures we saw a rooftop view but when we arrived it was just a two story, house-like ambiance, which at the end of the day worked out anyway as we were very comfortable and it wasn't noisy at all, but still very confusing. The drinks were out of this world! I got the shark in a bikini or something along those lines and it was served in a Tiki cup while my friend's was served in this little stout looking jar. My drink wasn't too strong which is exactly how I like my cocktails so I was very impressed. All in all I would definitely come back here if ever in Lyon again :)

He's a multi-lingual world traveler, wine sommelier and expert on local wines, liquors, champagnes, travel advice, local products and an all-around great guy. Recently opened and featuring 12pm-12am hours, traffic is light during lunch and most weekdays and picks up later and the weekends. The glasses came 3/4 poured and we kindly requested that they fill them to a reasonable level, but instead of simply pouring more beer, the bartender proceeded to take a glow stick (which obviously wasn't meant for culinary purposes) and stick it in my beer and stir it until the foam reached the brim. I was so shocked that I asked him why he would do that, and suggested that where were from it's not uncommon to ask for a full drink when you purchase one. He told me 'welcome to France' and we took our beers and went on our way. Do not support this business, I will never, ever patron this establishment again. This was such a negative encounter on an otherwise fantastic time in Paris, don't let them ruin your experience in this beautiful quartier!

Rue de Laurencin houses a cluster of the Thomas restaurants which are one next to the other or across the street and when you choose to go to one you can sometimes choose items from them all. Our waitperson was so sweet and helpful- she would literally run to the other kitchens to request items for us. Delicious champagne from "Thomas" across the street paired perfectly with our three starters from the cold menu: octopus salad, marinated shrimp (crevettes) and the anchovies. All three were wonderful Our fabulous pluma patra negra (a grilled steak that tasted as if slightly dredged in flour) and our grilled octopus also came from Thomas which is the most upscale of the restaurants. They were both outstanding. The star was a plate of delectable razor clams (couteaux gratiné) which were grilled and served in their shells with delicious herbs and oil. They were phenomenal and we could have eaten four plates of them. We greedily mopped up the leftover sauce from the shells with bread. We finished the meal with a pain perdu that tasted slightly of apples and was wonderful- hot and a slight chew in places. We fought for the last bites. All in all a magical meal in Lyon- I'll yearn for a return soon.
