I got a letter twice a year on her birthday and near christmas to give me updates on how she was doing. It stopped when she would have been around 16, and I'm assuming that is her choice. Reality is though, that when you make the choice to place your child for adoption, imagining you have a right to know what's going on with that child, open adoption or not, is kind of crazy. Remember this is about the child and what's best for them, not you and your feelings.
