The owner himself is not able to admit when he and his technicians make a mistake. I had a rear end replaced by his garage and they ordered the wrong gear ratio axle, after the work was done and their mistake messed up my vehicle even more than what I paid them to fix, I went back to confront him. He stated that it wasn't his fault that it was the wrong part it was the supplier he bought it from. However, I still feel like a mechanic should know if he is putting on the right part or not, but apparently these guys can't tell the wrong part from right part. read more

LC is just plain rude and argumentative and doesn't take responsibility for his crappy work. He's a hack at best. My daughter's truck was "fixed" by LC himself, or so he proudly proclaimed. Not only was it done incorrectly as verified by another actual certified mechanic, he charged more than he quoted, and used poor quality replacement parts which also failed causing unrelated damage to the truck. His answer, "you can take it up with the supplier of the parts," then he proceeded to get combative with me on the phone. Steer clear of this place. On my move from Austin to Denver we had a check engine light come on after getting the back tire replaced. The local Autozone had run the code and said it was the O2 processor, it wasn't urgent, and gave use some seafoam to use to clean it. We noticed while we were in Hico the engine was really stalling and luckily had pulled over to get gas. We put the seafoam in and just as we were pulling out...the engine died. It was 100 degrees and in the middle of a Saturday afternoon so we were panicked. My sister called LC's and Brandy went above and beyond to help us. We couldn't get a mobile mechanic to come out on a Saturday...even if they answered the phone. So she kept giving us numbers of anyone she knew who might either come out or give us a tow. Luckily, one of the tow truck drivers picked up and knew exactly where we were. He dropped us off at LCs and they even stayed open a little late for us to make sure we could get back on the road. The problem ended up being very minor (I know nothing about cars) and they didn't even charge us. After a stressful day they were like a trauma care unit, offering us AC, shade, and assurance that we weren't stranded. We made it to Lubbock that night and then to Denver the next day thanks to them. THANK YOU!!! read more

I owe a big debt to that worker at AutoZone who said "Take it to LC's Automotive over on East Washington". That was some of the best advice I ever received. There is nothing like having a thoroughly skilled, dependable, honest and friendly automobile mechanic these days, and I am talking about LC and his band of great mechanics and staff. I have been taking our vehicle problems to him for years now. It always gets done right, as quickly as possible and for a very fair price. My truck broke down at an unbelievably busy intersection during lunch hour and LC sent a mechanic out to the scene to get me going again. Before you get tired of reading any more of my accolades for LC's Automotive, let me give you that same great advice: "Take it to LC's!" read more

This Mom and Pop comes off as if they are helping these college kids but instead I feel that they are taking advantage of them. I feel they operate like true shade tree mechanics. First red flag is that they only take cash or cash app as payment. Second red flag, they made my son pay for for a part before they did the work. My son didn't know better and payed for it. Furthermore, they are taking on jobs without the proper equipment to fully fix your problem. My son was having an issue with his power steering. After having the car for two months, they claimed to have fixed it. My son picked the car up and before he could get home, the power steering went out again. This happened twice. They then tell me that the car needed to be programmed and that they dont have the proper equipment to fix it. I asked "well, why did you take the job if you knew you didn't have the equipment to program it?" LC replied "We missed it, but we did save you some money." Which is a lie, and an inconvenience because my sons car is still not fixed, he's been stranded twice and we have to go to another dealer. He also claimed that he would help get my sons car towed to the dealer but never did. I tried calling back to give them a chance to rectify the situation, but instead I was greeted by LC addressing me as "boy" and not by my name. I'm not sure if this is something that's normal in Stephenville, but where I'm from, we don't address grown men as "boy." He then threatened to sue me for defamation for writing this REVIEW. Saying, "I don't appreciate you attacking my business online...you don't know how this thing works boy." I replied, "I don't appreciate the way you guys took advantage of my son." Again, we had to take his car to Triple Crown Ford to get it programmed because they did not have the proper equipment to finish the job. I feel these people are scamming these college kids and they need to be stopped. Right now, I'm in the process of looking into makin sure that they even did the work that they claimed to have done because I seen a review that said that they never replaced a part from another client. Our daughter is a college student and we are from Colorado. We towed her car ( a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee) down at the beginning of the school year 2018-2019 with the thought that it probably wouldn't make the 800 plus mile trip. When we got in to town LC's was recommended. I called them up, explained our situation and what we thought needed to be done. Explaining what work we had already done, new timing chain and gears, water pump, alternator, oil pan seal and a few other minor things. We were able to drop it off that same day. LC and his team looked over the Jeep and told us what needed to be done, fix the a/c, power steering pump, steering gear box and we asked about a possible bad ground that was draining the battery. He called us the next day with a quote. We agreed. His mechanic found the short causing the battery to drain and didn't charge us for that fix. We got the Jeep back the next day. Great work.. A few months later we bought our daughter new tires. Told her to get them mounted and take it in for an alignment. (LC doesn't do alignments) The alignment place said they wouldn't do the the alignment because the steering gear box was bad or to loose. We called LC's. He told us to bring it in. The steering gear box was from a bad batch and he and his team installed a new one, no charge. Then a few more months later my daughter started to get "death wobbles". I knew it was her front sway bar, but was hoping it could wait til we got it back to Colorado. I called LC. Had it in, new sway bar and bushings done. Just drove her Jeep back to Colorado with NO issues. For a car that is almost 25 years old and my daughter 800 plus miles away. I highly recommend LC and his team. Any time I have called they remember us or at least the Jeep and what has been done. Great customer service and an honest ma and pop mechanic. Oh...one more thing...I guess as a surprise...one of his team found a bad relay in the cruise control. ( it never worked since we bought the car). Just to see, I tried the cruise on the drive back to Colorado and it worked! Another "Easter egg" that was never mentioned or billed! Thank you LC and your Team read more

I was very pleased with the work that was completed on my car. I went in thinking that I was going to have an extensive amount of work done on my car, because people were telling me there opinion on what was wrong with my car. LC was very helpful in explaining to me that the issue that I was experiencing was caused by a simple adjustment that needed to be made. I ended up only paying a minimal charge to have the adjustment made, instead of paying for parts that I did not need for my car. I great appreciate LC not taking advantage of the situation. He could easily have said that I needed all of these parts replaced to fix the issue, and I would have been like well you are the mechanic you know what you are talking about. But he was honest and up front and truthful with me that was a simple adjust, and saved me a great deal of money. read more

My car had been making this really loud noise so i was looking for places to take it to get looked at and a friend recommended LC's. I took it there and they told me my front axel was broken and i needed new wheel bearings on both the front tires. it ended up costing about $550 dollars, when i drove off the noise was fixed and i was super happy. i go to college here and so i don't drive my car often. so after a few days i go to drive and the noise is back, just as loud as before...i call LC's to tell them and they tell me to bring it in. i bring it in and they tell me it was my front wheel bearing again and that since they are the ones who messed it up they'd only charge me $70 for the labor...i wondered why i was paying for labor when they're the ones who put it in my car wrong. i end up just paying and when i drive away the noise is gone!! then a few weeks go by and after a few times of driving 3 hours home i start to notice a noise. i end up just going to a mechanic in my hometown and he said that my wheel bearings, the ones LC's replaced, had been put on wrong and were worn down all warped. my hometown mechanic said to not go back to LC's anymore...after my car got fixed by him i've had no problems since. i do not recommend going here. i downloaded yelp just to leave this review. read more

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WROST PLACE!!!! 1st & foremost come to find out from two of his former employees on separate occasions. LC is NOT a mechanic & doesn't hardly know too much about cars, just enough to get by. He only has one Mechanic who works in his garage, and from what was explained to me by his former employees (who are still friends with him just cant do business) is not a very good mechanic either. LC did a job for me at which he quoted me a reasonable price, however like most mechanics once he started the job he "found" new problems which had to be fixed which he bought the parts and put it on without my consent and just charged it to my bill. After the job was done I go to pick my car up for him to tell me that once he put the parts back together and started the car he found I was now not getting any oil pressure, which I NEVER had a problem with before. I ask how much I will be to fix that and he tells me $100 for the part and roughly $450 for the labor but since im a college student he will "cut me some slack" and only charge close to $400. But the problem is in the same area he just fixed where the labor was only $150. He could have and Should have noticed this problem while he was right there in that area. I spoke to different mechanics and asked how much they would charge for that repair with out telling them the price LC quoted me and they all replied $150-$225 and said that there is no way a real mechanic wouldn't have noticed the broken item when they were just right there looking at it. When I finally go to pay after the quoted price of $150 jumps to $265 after the extra part was bought his wife who works the register tried to charge me $395! After I started to lose my cool LC told her to just do $265. I had the 2nd problem fixed at a different shop with one of LC's old workers and he informed me that the extra part LC charged me for has NOT been replaced!!!! So Why was I charged. Overall LC is the WORST place to go, as I talk to other former customers of LC as soon as I mention his name they all become angry and start telling me of the rip off jobs he and his wife has done to them. DO NOT GO TO LC'S I HIGHLY recommend you do your own repairs yourself before going to LC. Even if you don't know anything about cars. read more

I WILL SO AGREE ....with Darryl B. ABSOLUTE HORRIABLE PLACE!! He WILL NOT... Stand By his work.... He half Ass does the work and will send you on the road KNOWING he DID NOT do the work CORRECTLY into the NIGHT .... After calling with the problem into the trip telling you that it is the computer in the car.. after getting it to my mechanic the next day finding out the part I BOUGHT for him to put on he DID NOT and ADMITTED NOT putting it on correctly to MY Mechanic (which is recorded) was bent which cause the oil to leak everywhere and in return burn up the motor.... NOW I have a $6,000.00 fix to my vehicle he refuse to take responsibility for after admission of not fixing the original problem correctly.. He should be an upstanding person and make this right and have his insurance pay for this MISTAKE he made.. But instead claims we KNOW Nothing about Mechanic's ... DUH!!! that is why we took it in... That is why I took it to my other Mechanic which is Christian Brother's which have 4 stars ... YOU don't even deserve 1... Which to publish this I may have to put 1...
