We watched others receive 4 beers per flights so I guess that is what you get when you buy Groupon to try out new breweries. The beers for some reason all tasted very similar. Makes me wonder if they do a kit brew or we just tasted at a bad time. I give 3 stars mostly because of the decor and the atmosphere this place has. Kid friendly, games and cool art. This is the LCBO that has no need to card me, ever, because I am here like clockwork every weekend…read more I am not trying to brag (no one should ever be proud of being a "regular" at a liquor store) but I just want everyone to know how wonderful the staff at this location are! You know how some LCBOs have staff who know nothing about wine and couldn't care less if you find what you want? This one is actually the exact opposite. It may be on the edge of Parkdale, it may have the occasional crazy person who wanders in yelling about something incomprehensible, but it offers service I have not found at many other locations in the city. When I have questions, someone is there to answer them, and if I'm trying a new beer, the cashier will tell me what she thought of it at the tasting the week before. I love this LCBO. One tip though -- there is a huge difference between buying your booze at 6pm on a Saturday night at at 9pm when they close. Go closer to 6, because you'll be waiting in lines that stretch across the length of this tiny store, and it's really not fun to wait in line when you have beer in your hands that you can't drink.

(The latter is always packed and you typically need to wait in line.) The staff were very pleasant and helpful, which made for a relaxing shopping experience. They did not have the brand of cognac we were looking for but we found a good substitute. (They did mention the ability to order what they may not have in store and have it shipped to the LCBO location of your choice.) In terms of the store, it's a bit dark inside. There are not many windows and it has a different feel than most other LCBOs, including the one at Imperial Plaza. We would shop here again.

It's an American Pale Lager style beer brewed by Amsterdam Brewing Company in East York, ON, Canada. Beer store staff told me that it was cheaper to buy four Six Packs of 3 Speed (on sale for $16.95 each or 67.80 for 24 beers) than buying a case of 24 ($70.95). Thanks, he saved me $3.15!
