They usually have a wine tasting going on which is great if you're looking to try something new. Their staff are always willing to help out with a pairing and don't make you feel ridiculous for asking. It's a beautiful store the way things are displayed and marketed. There is always a lot of staff on the floor. Oftentimes the website doesn't match up. I've been looking for a specific wine and they don't end up having it even though the website said they had three in stock though. Call and check first before going. The parking lot is a nightmare because of Shoppers Drug Mart, Starbucks and Whole Foods. I dread having to go here on weekends because of this and why I took away a star. There are often long lineups, but they typically call anothe staff member to open up another cash. I went to return a few bottles of champagne the other day and because I no longer had the receipt, I couldn't get my money back. I understand other stores, but since you can only get alcohol from the LCBO in Ontario, where do they think I got it from?! Either way, gift card just means I don't have to pay for my wine later!

I can't always find what I'm going in for, but I've learned that if I need something I check the LCBO app first so I'm not disappointed. The staff here are always on the floor replenishing it seems to keep the shelves full. They have a good variety of chilled options too so if you're on your way somewhere it's convenient. I agree with other reviews that the parking lot could be a big bigger in comparison to the size of the store but if you need to get your steps in you can always park across the road in the much too large superstore lot.

Located just off of Winston Churchill (in the same plaza as a larger Pizza pizza), Glass half Full has been helping Oakville get their .. ahem, buzz on, al by themselves for 10 years. So what are they? No, not a bar, but a DIY wine and beer making business who really know their stuff. I got to talking to owner Denis P, and he was a wealth of knowledge about different varietals of Wine, different accessories, and beer! The wine has been their business for years but recently they've moved into helping customers brew their own beer right on sight. Different from other U-brew locations, they get the freshest malted barley in 6 different varieties from a local bavarian brewmaster (nothing preserved or chemically enhanced). You place an order which for a batch of 24 mini growlers (a mini growler is equivalent to 2 tall boys each) runs between $55-65 a batch. They even have a Gluten Free beer for those who love beer but doesn't love them in return. The wine making process takes a couple of months from initial order to bottling day, while the beer only takes 2 weeks between brew to bottle! I didn't put down an order this time but I wanted to see what they offered and their pricing. I might personally hold out for when they get a batch of seasonal grapes from South America in to make wine (only happens twice a year).

I tried the dunkel again - this time at home - and enjoyed it even more than the first tasting on location. It's likely because I had it refrigerated this time. It's all a matter of taste, and I know some aficionados prefer just cool (or even room temperature); however for me, I just loved it. I offered some to a friend who couldn't believe it was a u-brew. A wonderfully rich, full tasting beer with maple added. Completely sold on being a regular at this point and can't wait to try their other offerings. Also, if you don't read my original review, just take away that you're getting excellent beer (by any standard) at very low cost.

It still stocks all the most popular brands of wine, beer and spirits, and a decent Vintages section, if you're into that sort of thing. Possibly the best thing about this place is that it's open until 10pm every night except Sunday, for those days when you run out of wine at a dinner party. Or you get home from a particularly gruelling day of work super late. Or, you know, Wednesday. The staff here is very helpful and very friendly. Often, they banter back and forth with one another, which is a nice change from many LCBO workers in the city who look like they have lost the ability to smile and the will to live. The fact that it's just downstairs from a big Loblaws (and down the hall from a chocolatier, flower shop and cigar shop) makes it a great stop on the way to a party/girlfriend who's forgiveness you are begging for.

The store was originally Toronto's rail station hub, which accounts for its tremendous size/layout. This vast location offers very small samplings of a wide variety of finer quality drinks for 'token' prices and comp. beer/cider samples with small finger food. My friend and I partook in both and we enjoyed comparing the different flavours and styles we discovered. I'd visited this location a couple of times before but quite a few years ago, and my overall impression hasn't diminished - if anything, I appreciate it more now perhaps due to my abstinence from visiting. Several Staff Members present greeted us and provided helpful information and answers to questions, and were quite friendly and polite while doing so. Obviously they have a very wide variety and quantity of beverages available including those in their fairly massive beer fridge, and as beer is my main drink of choice I consider their fridge quite impressive. Given everything I've stated above, it practically goes without saying that I recommend a visit if you're fairly nearby.
