How weird is this? My favourite beer is Newcastle Brown (it's British), and I prefer it in a bottle…read morerather than a can (is it me, or does the can leave a taste?) But you can't get that beer at the beer store! Oh no, you have to go to the LCBO for that! Makes NO sense!! On the other hand, beer stores are well stocked with the "regular" beers. My favourite time to go is in the summer on a hot day... and go into the fridge room to look around while I cool off! LOL Otherwise, this outlet - like all the others - is convenient for buying beer and returning empties. Service was typical and good as usual. We don't go to the beer store all that often, but when we do, we seldom come out empty handed.

He walked us through how their distillery works and how the grains are locally sourced. They have quite a few options and some very unique options like Garlic Vodka and Ginger Vodka. The different gins were great to taste side by side as well as tasting the whiskey side by side. Their canned vodka coolers are delicious, we coudn't leave without buying some. We walked away really enjoying the experience and the craft alcohols. Had to get a few bottles to take home, and the mini bottles are a great option with the 4 pack for $40. I had to get the garlic vodka, it is just so unique and he suggested using it in a Caesar or Bloody Mary, so we will try that.

We initially went into the brewery for a few cans, and ended up taking a peek next door at this distillery as well, where we found out that they use local farm-grown ingredients to distill vodka and rum, and we got a tour of the facility although they are not distilling anything at the moment. Fascinating! The equipment is large; I can't imagine trying to do this on the QT during prohibition!! We we offered samples of their organic rum, a vodka cooler, as well as garlic flavoured vodka!! This was amazing!! We took some home, and I will for sure cook with it! This place (and the brewery next door) was certainly worth the visit. We will be back... once we get low on what we purchased!

She was really friendly and talked to us about the different beers they brew and the styles and flavors to expect. It is cool how each beer and label pays tribute to the land and history around them. I had the Barracks Black and I can't recall the beer my wife got but I think it was an amber ale of sorts. Both were good. I really enjoyed the black and we ended up buying some to take home with us. It was really nice that the staff let us hang out for a bit and enjoy the beer even though it was after closing.
