Extremely Disappointing Experience with the Law Office of Robert B. Jobe…read more
If you don't want to end up paying twice for legal representation, hiring another attorney, and dealing with unnecessary stress, I strongly encourage you to read my experience before hiring this firm. I wish someone had warned me.
I was represented by this office for over 3.5 years and paid thousands of dollars, only to experience repeated problems with legal representation, communication, and case management.
Initially, I was told Robert Jobe himself would represent me. After signing the contract, however, I was informed that I had hired the firm, not a specific attorney. Despite my disappointment, I trusted that an experienced attorney would handle my case.
My first Master Calendar Hearing was a nightmare. Nobody contacted me to prepare me or explain who would represent me. Just two days before the hearing, I called the office myself, and the receptionist said, "Let me see who is available."
On the hearing day, my attorney arrived so late that I nearly entered the courtroom alone. She struggled to locate the courtroom, and we were already running behind. When she finally arrived, she casually announced, "This is my first hearing."
I was shocked! I had paid thousands of dollars for professional representation, only to discover moments before my hearing that my attorney had never attended one before.
Even the immigration judge questioned whether it was her first hearing, and she confirmed it. Worse, she appeared completely unfamiliar with my case. When the judge asked basic questions, her response was, "I don't know." The judge appeared surprised by her lack of preparation, and my hearing had to be continued.
I was prepared for my hearing, but my own attorney wasn't! Imagine experiencing this when your immigration status and future are at stake.
After complaining, I requested another attorney, who fortunately was knowledgeable and addressed the situation. However, the problems continued.
Over the following years, my attorneys changed repeatedly. Before another hearing, I called to make sure the same disaster wouldn't happen again. Unbelievably, I was told I had no assigned attorney and that whoever was available would represent me.
Communication was equally frustrating. Responses frequently took 2-3 weeks, and I constantly had to follow up. Front desk staff often interrupted me, talked over me, and failed to listen to my concerns.
I also experienced what I believe were multiple mistakes in my case and received incorrect guidance on important immigration matters, causing significant stress and anxiety.
Eventually, I completely lost confidence in this firm and hired a new immigration attorney. After more than 3.5 years and thousands of dollars spent, I now have to pay another attorney to review my case from scratch and address unresolved problems.
Immigration cases involve people's lives, families, and futures. Clients deserve prepared attorneys, consistent representation, accurate guidance, and professional communication.
I paid for professional legal representation and peace of mind. Instead, I experienced repeated attorney changes, poor preparation, questionable advice, unnecessary stress, and additional legal expenses.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend the Law Office of Robert B. Jobe. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before trusting this firm with their immigration future.
