This agency called me twice (left a voicemail once and then called and spoke to me) regarding an alleged accident I was involved in. I asked them how they received my information and they said DOT provided it with them. (Is NY DOT selling people's private information to this agency?) I told them to remove me from their list and that their records were wrong. Five days later, they called my mother. They are obviously now going through records and my family tree to contact my family members which is an absolute invasion of privacy and illegal. When I called to question how they received my mother's information, they provided no answer. Mark Williams, the agent I spoke to, asked about my health (which I am sure is a HIPPA violation) and when I asked for the entity's legal name an address and he told me that he cannot disclose that private information with me. This is absolutely preposterous and illegal. I never gave consent to any agency to share my information with the Lawyers Group (or Personal Injury Law Group as their pseudo-company is stated on the phone) to contact me nor my family members. This is illegal activity and violates privacy statutes and needs to be stopped from happening to people again. read more
