Amazing place to try locally sourced Swiss wine. Very knowledge about their wines and amazingly helpful and friendly .

We were staying in Lausanne and we took the regional train to Rivaz. The Lavaux Vinorama is about a 10-minute walk from the train station along the busy road in the direction of Lausanne (it is well marked by signs). You can either cross the busy road or take the steps down from the parking area to the tunnel under the road. You can either sample your choice of wines by the glass from the wine list or you can buy a sampler package and they choose the wines. We had the Chasellas package which included 3 whites and the Discovery which included 3 whites and the Plant Robert (only place this grape is planted) red. You can either get each wine one at a time or all at once. There is also a movie about the wine which is shown in English and French. The train ride to Lavaux Vinorama is very scenic, and the walk from the train station is short and enjoyable. I really enjoyed this winery. When you first arrive, they send you downstairs to watch a short documentary about the winery. It wasn't crowded so we were the only ones watching. After the video we went for our tastings. I enjoyed all the wines! They were fantastic, and I would definitely go back again. read more

This place was truly amazing, though fair warning you may spend a decent bit here. I spent a few hours wandering through the vineyards, which you can climb to over the Vinorama, and then came back here to relax afterwards. I opted for the 3 white 2 red tasting flight, and then added the Plant Robert on afterwards, for 3/3. I also splurged on the bread and cheese basket, which consisted of stacked sticks of fresh cheese and pieces of tasty bread to eat it with. You also got some bread and some crisp bread sticks with your wine flights. Incredible view outside, I sat outside for probably 2 hours and slowly worked my way through my white and red flights. Staff talked me through each flight as they brought it out to me and made recommendations based on my feedback - and ultimately suggested two bottles to take home with me. This is a wonderful place to stop and taste a variety of wines from the region. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They explain where each of the wines you taste originated within the region. They also highlight the differences in the wines and explain how the slightly different conditions in each of the smaller Lavaux regions lead to different tastes to each of the wines. Menus are in French, English, and German and the staff also spoke all three languages. Beautiful to sit outside and enjoy while looking at Lake Geneva and the Alps. read more

Seriously awesome concept! Had been trekking all day through the vineyards and, unfortunately for us, most of the wine caves were closed since we went walking around on a Tuesday afternoon. We were really disappointed and wanted to try a bunch of wines from the beautiful area we had just explored. This place was right next to the train station, so we went in and had a few tastings, got some complimentary crackers, and ended up buying a few bottles of wine to take home! The worker there was extremely helpful with explaining the different wines, without being pushy at all. I really appreciated his poise, which made me very happy with the experience. A great place to try a bunch of wines from the Lavaux area, and a great way to end a beautiful hike. read more

As you travel along Lake Leman from Lutry to Montreaux you will begin to notice stone terraced vineyards which is known as the Lavaux vineyards. This area is a UNESCO world heritage site and was built by monks many years ago. There are many walking paths you can take throughout the villages that make up this area, or touristic trains that run from April - October. Whether you are walking or driving this area, the perfect end to a day of exploring is to taste the wines of this region at the Lavaux Vinorama. This tasting room is built into the hillside of the Lavaux next to an impressive waterfall. It is a couple minutes walk from the Rivaz train stop, or there is a parking area if you drive. Inside the tasting room there are several tables set up and surrounding you are a selection of wines to purchase. There are several different tasting packages that you can choose from or you can individually select wines to taste on your own. You can also order bread/meat/cheese to have with your wine tasting. They also offer a 20 minute film to watch for free if you taste some wines. The film shows the year in a life of a wine maker in the Lavaux. Each week the tasting room highlights different vineyards from the area so there is always a different selection taste. The service was great and it was a great place to enjoy some wine and hang out with friends. read more

We had a relaxed visit to the vinorama that we can definitely recommend. We did not get rushed while tasting some wines, watching the wine documentary and then even getting offered and addition wine that we just had to taste. Good fun, reasonable priced, friendly personnel. read more

My husband and I enjoy not only wine, but also the process of winemaking and nuances within each wine type and region. Emily was our server and well explained and introduced us to local wines. She also ensured we were able to view the award winning video about Lavaux winemaking translated in English for us. This was a wonderful experience for us. read more

We stopped here after hiking through the vineyards on our own. They have a huge selection and were full of great information about the various wine and vineyards. I'd highly recommend a tasting and spending some time at the end of your hike here! read more
