Impossible to take a shower without flooding the place. The toilet seat is not fixed properly, the bed sheets are not white. There were stains on the floor. It didn't feel clean at all. This place is not worth the price you pay. I have a feeling the owners want to make money without doing the necessary repairs this place needs. They think that because they have a nice view, they don't need to anything or provide any type of service. To top it off, as we entered the apartment, the Conceige had the nerve to say their internet was down. All in all, this was a terrible experience and I would advise no one to stay here until they fix this place. In the courtyard, the pavement is covered with moss - it is so slippery. I hate it when I see a place with potential that doesn't fill that potential. Instead they financially extort their guests and give them little in return. Look at the photos below to get an idea of what this place really looks like. Don't trust the photos they have on their website.

The wine museum was in French, with no English translations that I could find. However, I was able to get by with my growing French vocabulary. It is fun to wander around the museum and see the various exhibits on wine production, tasting, etc. In the museum shop you can even do a small wine tasting of some of the local Aigle wines. I loved exploring and couldn't get enough of the views of the countryside from the castle.

I would definitely recommend going during a…read moreweek night though, or earlier in the day, as the Friday evening got VERY busy, and it was hard at times to make your way through the crowd to the booth to enjoy a sip. Because of this though, I explored some of the less busy booths, and found some hidden gems! Also, be aware of your glass, as I saw many people getting jostled around, and their glass quickly then just became bits on the ground. I love that there are fountains to wash your glass out at and grab some water to drink located throughout the event. Makes it very convenient. I only wish they had a few more bathrooms. As always, the time at Arvinis goes by very fast, and I soon heard the announcement informing us that the event had ended. It is then a large group of people waiting to get out the door, if you are lucky, you might find some nice booth owners, who are looking to empty their bottles, and you can get some wine to sip on as you exit.

The wines come from all over the Schweiz and the globe. This year they featured Lebanon, just so you know. They also had sandwiches (which weren't included in the price)- pretty tasty, but small, and the wait staff weren't nice... Toilets are inside, but more or less porto-potty style. And with so much wine tasting, one must wait for a while... When it closed at 10, all the visitors fled to the McD's across the way. So many folks there, we missed our train (even with a delay)! But get there early, or go on a week night, and your wine tasting evening will go perfectly right!

The exhibits were well put together, and there was a lot of interesting information to read with fun games for children. I loved the temporary exhibit (free to the public) about running and the focus on Paris 2024. Admission was more expensive than I would have liked, even with the student discount for 14 CHF. The Olympic park outside is nice to walk around.

I've actually been to this museum, funnily enough (in 2005, I believe it was, but I could be off), so I decided to post the review anyway. The Olympic Museum in Switzerland is worth a visit if you are obsessed with the Olympics but we're really not. We like the World Cup a lot. So I won't be taking Barbie back here with me most likely. It's still a pretty cool Museum and it's been a long time since I was here but it looks from the pictures like it's changed, so I'll have to consider maybe giving it another visit when I come back to Switzerland maybe next year maybe no go.

We had never heard of this place so it was a complete surprise! This is exactly how it should be. I don't want to spoil this surprise but will just say it is well worth the trip. Just go and let yourself be swept away by this beautiful history. I love how his film history is separated from his wonderful home and family life. We've gone from not knowing much about Charlie Chaplin to absolutely adoring him. What a life!!
