I was very nervous at first, going to a new Doctor & new practice (new for me), mostly concerned about the level of quality care & attention that I need, (being a patient of many other Doctors for a variety of reasons"ailments" for 30+ years). However, Dr. Ardon alleviated all of my concerns from early on and ever since. Her care for patients health & well-being is beyond compare in this day & age. She's more than experienced, super dedicated to her patients, and very understanding. She truly cares & she demonstrates that in the lengths she goes to get to know & care for her patients. Her staff helps to ensure the best of service, and everyone is totally professional. On a more personal note, I'm always amazed at how far Dr. Ardon goes to provide special care to those who are in need of it, no matter where they are or what their circumstances are. I have found, the more you need her, the more she works to be there, to help! in my opinion, that's pretty rare in these times. So, I highly recommend Dr. Ardon to anyone who is considering her as "their Doctor", and for one can honestly say, that I hope to be under her care, for as long as I am in need. I wish the programs were more clearly outlined on the website so more people in need could find it. The Pros: Competent clincians (with an exception who was let go), who offer thorough, well-researched groups. The ability to tailor your schedule to your needs, and reassess over time. Transportation is provided, and there is a number to call for 24/7 support in the ETP (Enhanced Treatment Program). There was always a therapist on call. Of the programs I have been in, I will say BlueSky has the ability to provide high-quality care for a wider variety of issues, including psychosis and trauma. The trauma psycho-ed group was a particular favorite of mine - I had never experienced that level of psychoeducation in any other setting. The cons: some houses are much nicer than others (for those in the ETP program). Security in the houses is very lax, there were break ins at one location during my time there. There is no accounting for noise levels, creppy neighbors, and people smoking weed in your driveway. Male staff can enter all-female housing at any time, even in the middle of the night. Nothing untoward ever happened that I knew of, but it is a consideration for some. Night shift staff can be dismissive - once I was in the midst of a panic attack, called for meds, and was told to 'wait until morning' next time because the medication was 'too hard to sort through'. Of the two perscribers I worked with, one (the MD) was much more competent. I was still over medicated, to my detriment. Having been in similar programs before, I will say this is about par for the course anywhere you go, especially if you enter on a robust med regimen. My time at BlueSky was not wasted. As with any program, you get out what you are able to put into it. I felt I had adequate support and was well-prepared to live on my own by the time I left.

The folks were well intentioned and caring but not very detailed oriented. Communication always seemed to be an issue, and my medications were never quite right. The individual therapy was fine, and the groups were hit or miss, depending on who facilitated. The life coaches were just unreliable but nice and well intentioned. My biggest reservation involved our dependence on rides to the store, appointments or to the clinic. Being on time always seemed to be an issue, and schedules would change at the last minute with no communication. I intended my stay to be a six month treatment experience but only completed one month. That's all I could take. I was discharged and transferred to a sober living facility but foolishly decided to continue with Blue Sky IOP for "treatment continuity". I lasted 3 more weeks before reaching the end of my rope. Overall, Blue Sky was a learning experience and like most such services, it's exactly what you make of it. I sought to make the best of my time there but was very glad to leave and finally cut ties completely. UPDATE: Today, I am working on 3 years sobriety and remain hopeful about long term recovery. Now that some time has past, I definitely see how Blue Sky was a major challenge in my post treatment recovery, but I plugged into another program and learned from that whole ordeal. The intake counselor was extremely calm and nice, and the assigned counselor I am seeing now is fantastic! He really makes me feel better about everything that bothers me! Plus I have not had to wait longer than 5 minutes on any occasion... and if you get there early they commonly take you in early instead of making you wait. They don't seem to overbook so there is usually no lines or anything. One of my favorite aspects is none of the counselors try to shove meds down your throat.... they consider meds a "last resort" reserved for people with serious issues. They want YOU to work on YOU before even considering using meds to solve the underlying issues. Which is great because I am pretty paranoid about meds! PS - I am pretty sure this is a secondary base, I think the primary "headquarters" is on Thomaston Ave.

His calm demeanor and his profound inner peacefulness permeates his entire being and spills over into the whole atmosphere of his state of the art offices in downtown westport. He is so intune with people on so many different levels and it's very sublte and unassuming. He is a role model for so many of the children who frequent his offices. He models the "right relationship" with correct "boundaries" during the sessions and this kind and gentle way affects and ripples into all other outside toxic relationships that his clients and patients come to him in depseration and crisis to "fix". He is a strengthener of the positive aspects of a person rather than an exposer of the weak areas of a person. I have seen the results of this in many of the clients he treats. I have met with people who have referred to themselves as therapists, ministers, pastors, and counselors. Not one of them has had the "gift" of compassion and care that Nicholas has. Instead their reviews would all get a minus 5 stars. Possibly Nicholas is just a nice person who genuinely loves people and helping them get stronger in their inner life to face the hassles of everyday life...and this in itself makes the others look weak and inefficient. He appears to just look to get patients in and out as fast as he can so he is able to bill your insurance company. Which was evident in him seeing 5 different patients in the first 15 minutes I was in his office. If you are looking for someone to just write you a prescription without actually being checked out by a doctor, he's your man. If you are looking to be actually seen by a doctor go else where. Setting up an appointment is easy on their website, and wait times are not too long. Dr. C is thorough in his analysis of your health concern or general checkup, and truly makes an effort to understand your situation holistically as a patient to make the most effective recommendations. He is highly knowledgeable of the ecosystem for specialists in his area as well for referrals.
