I have been a client of The Peacemaker Center since July 2008 and continue to attend therapy sessions with Judy Reid. I give this practice a 5-star rating for its commitment to peace, health, and safety and its service to the community regardless of an individual's finances or situation. Throughout these past 15 years, I have had to make gut-wrenching decisions. I have worked tirelessly for life-sustaining relationships. I couldn't have made the hard but healthy choices I needed to make without the support of a highly-trained therapist. Judy provided financial aid and flexible appointments both in person and via telehealth. When I was at my absolute worst - lonely and afraid, Judy showed me she trusted me. I began to learn how to trust myself. If you are in an impossible, crazy situation and desire to work for peace and freedom, The Peacemaker Center is a positive first step on your path toward healing.

Over this time I have had the opportunity to not only meet with the individuals working there, but speak with others who have also had rewarding experiences as well. The individuals that contribute to the Peacemaker Center exemplify all of the qualities that one would be looking for while searching for any counseling services. These individuals have authentic care and exceed expectations. I have the unique advantage of being raised in a household of two psychologist parents, and I can speak with confidence when I say that the Peacemaker Center truly makes a difference in the lives of local residents. I have and will continue to recommend this center to friends and family in the future! Thank you for making a difference in our community!

I had reached a point in self medicating the issue that went beyond anything I could handle on my own. I went seeking help and was hit with a brick wall of tough love, knocking me out of it and helping me take control. I was clean and looked beautiful by my wedding day a short month later. Not perfect like I wanted to be because of how I held myself down with stress, but better than I could have ever imagined myself on the day the I walked into her office a complete mess. After just one month I was able to be absolutely glowing, happy, present and in love on my wedding day. I continue to check in every month and am committed to the process with Dr. Mahmood. One thing you should know about this: It sucks. Also, it's expensive…read more Saw Jaqueline Summers in her Narberth/Ardmore/Whatever it's called home. We opted for the $800 full day marriage intensive to try to save our doomed marriage. My (then) husband and I were supposed to fill out lengthy documents explaining our marriage trouble. Ms. Summers did not read these beforehand, but rather began reading them when we both arrived. I was (typically) late, yet she still refused to BEGIN reading these documents during our PAID time until I was there. So my husband and I sat there on the couch and watched her read. Throughout the day, Ms. Summers' eyes constantly darted from my face to the clock that was positioned just over my shoulder. I could feel her counting down the minutes. Then, after lunch she kept us waiting for at least 15 minutes during our PAID time while she worked on her computer right in front of us. What did she work on? Was it an urgent life-or-death situation? No, she was laying out a flier for some event she was speaking at. I know this because she had her back to us while she worked in front of her large computer screen right in front of us. Of course, the session ended promptly on time (which I didn't complain about because I was happy to leave by that point). When she found out that I was a writer, she recited several poems to us that she'd had published and suggested that I attend various writers' conferences she speaks at. After our session, she called me at least twice, not to check on my marriage, but to ask me to attend said writers' conferences. Her recommendations for therapy included "snuggling" and sleeping naked with the man I could barely stomach being in the room with at the time. I found these suggestions to be both ineffective and damaging. Upon noticing that I placed a pillow between my husband and I on the couch, she said to me, "What do you want to say to that pillow? Talk to it." I was like, "Are you effing serious?" Also, at one point she gave each of us a Matchbox-sized schoolbus and told us that we could keep them. There was some sort of disjointed explanation about what we keep in our buses. (Can you feel me wincing as I'm writing this? Yeesh.) So my overall rating of this would rank right around here: Total Suckitude.

But call them when your loved one is in crisis? Crickets. No callback, no urgency, no one who gives a damn. They don't earn good ratings--they manage them. The 4 stars aren't from great care, they're from pressuring people to take down honest reviews. That rating is curated, not earned. Our family trusted Provive during a mental health emergency and they completely abandoned us. No meaningful follow-up, no real support when things got worse. But their billing? Flawless. Their reputation cleanup crew? On speed dial. This place puts more energy into protecting their online image than actually helping patients. They'll ignore you when you're desperate, then suddenly find your number the moment you speak up about it. If they're calling you right now to "discuss" this review--that tells you everything you need to know. Find a provider who answers when it matters, not just when their ratings are at stake.
