You got 3 types of trees and 4 - 5 ranges of height, organised in rows. Bloody simple, and the trees look pretty good too. I don't know what are the prices but we paid £37 for a 5-6ft Nordman. Really happy to have found this relaxing place to go to on a sunday.

Sometimes a bargain is available but most things seem to be overpriced especially for a cash and carry. Tesco usually have better deals on! I have never seen a rush of people here or a rush of staff for that matter. On my last visit I think there were only two other customers in the place but when I came to the tills to pay I still had to wait and the lady who served me was verging on rude! I only go here when I am desperate for something I can't find elsewhere.

I think those who have complained about the attitudes, possibly didn't make their requests clearly enough, or were aggressive in manner, but can't really comment further. Yes, there are times when they don't have stocks of some items I am sure every business has run out of something at one time or another, especially when they have as many customers as Makro do.

The rug had not been returned to the supplier as requested/ On picking up the rug (vintage patchwork multi) it was lighter than I had anicipated for a rug of its size. I laid it out and it feels thinner and flatter than the 8mm described. It is an attractive design (although slightly more muted than the illustration) and a perfect size for the area that I need to cover so I decided to keep it. I will put some soft padding underneath. Ovverall it's OK and a little less than I expected so I am not raving about it but it is adequate. The supplier was quite flat in his e-mail of apology.

The plant and flower stocks change seasonally and the items usually have helpful tips and information on the suitability. There are sections of the centre suitable for most purposes, from gravel and rocks to statues, fountains and pond liners. The pets section always has a great selection of fish too. My one gripe is that Christmas always comes VERY early to Gordon Riggs, with a strong emphasis on a very large (and impressive) seasonal lighting display. It could just do with arriving a few weeks or months later than it does though. That said, it's especially great for your pick of healthy, juicy christmas trees.

On Sunday at Gordon Riggs I had the opportunity to buy (Deep breath):- Candles,Locusts,Crickets,Rabbits,Bearded Dragons,Vases,Books,Paving stones,Bloody Meerkat tat,Plants,Incense sticks,Essential oils,Bird Food,Bird Tables,Bird poison (Not really),CD's,DVD's,Tins of minced beef and onions and a carvery. And that is a good thing! because when I go to a garden centre the last thing I want to look at is garden stuff,as I stated in last years review of All in One garden Centre I hate gardens and gardening, so the more non gardening related things they sell the better, which is why I have a soft spot for Gordons place, anything that stops me having to look at bulbs and seeds is a good thing. It's a nice place just to have a wander around to be honest, there's far too much and too many things for me to list. It also has good parking, and good disabled access, as well as friendly and helpful staff.
