Great little gem of a laundry mat in a bustling restaurant and shopping area of Florence/Firenze. Our hotel was not far, so I was able to walk to the laundry mat and wash all of our clothes. It's small but efficient. They have vending machines with laundry soap available to purchase. There is also a coin machine to break down the change if you need it. The directions for using these huge European style machines was also provided in English and very thorough. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for an available machine. The washing machines and dryers are of good quality too. I was able to pass the time chatting with people from Canada and Germany while we all waited for our clothes. I never had so much fun doing laundry as I did in Florence.

Doesn't get any easier to do laundry in Florence! Just make sure to bring euros and change.read more

My apologies in advance, but I need to air out my dirty laundry…read more Come take a quick spin with me down memory lane and let's have some good ol' fashion Clean Fun. It was a warm sunny day in Florence (Firenze) and we were half way through our tour of Italy. We began our journey in Barcelona and then jumped over to Rome (Roma) and by the time we arrived in the region of Tuscany, my clothes smelled of Spanish Paella & Spaghetti Carbonara. Knowing we had 2 more major cities to hit before returning back home, I knew there was no way Air France was going to believe it was the stinky cheese I bought in Paris that smelled, when it was actually my unwashed clothing in my suitcase, so I made an executive decision... Find the closest Laundromat! I asked the hotel concierge where the nearest laundry facility was and just like that we were off to the Speed Queen. The laundromat was quite clean inside and the washing machine was very efficient. The soap is built in, so there is no need to purchase or add your own detergent. Drying the clothes was a breeze, we just let the dryer do all the work. ;) Afterwards, we folded our delicates, paired our socks and left there smelling like sunshine. My advice. Never overpack while traveling abroad, especially while in Europe. Chances are, there's a laundromat near your hotel and I hear hostels usually have in-house facilities.
