Chef Brandy was super responsive to our inquiry, professional to deal with, and she prepared a meal in our home that surpassed many that we've had at very upscale restaurants. We both enjoy entertaining, and in general, cooking for our guests is part of the fun (for us), but there have been several times that we've said, "maybe we should just hire Chef Brandy to come do the cooking...." because her food was so good, she is fairly priced and she took care of literally everything. Shodan showed up and got everything dialed in right on time for our event. Our son and his longtime pal invited their friends and family who tried a wide range of tasty treats and there was plenty of time spent gathered around the goodness. Only advice I'd give is to make sure you order more crostinis. I saw plenty of quick word of mouth drive traffic right to them and everyone loved the unique flavors that the filet with smashed avocado, honey goat cheese topped with roasted tomatoes and pesto drizzle, and caprese delivered. The grazing table is something I'll daydream of often now that I've seen and gotten to taste so many amazing things from it. I looked at all of the goodies and loved the smell. I was really surprised by the ribs. At first I thought he had already put the bbq sauce on the ribs but he didn't. He explained to me that is from the juices of the ribs alone. I don't know what type of seasoning he uses but I was really HIGHLY IMPRESSED at what I've tasted. We were having a huge outdoor party for my husband's 50th birthday and we had invited over 100 people and we really wanted a food truck where not only the adults would love the food but also not too eccentric where it could please the kids too. I spent a lot of time throughout a week scouring the internet for a food truck that I felt could fit our needs. I found the menus for private parties too restricting and it was starting to feel I wouldn't be able to find the kind of menu I wanted. A friend of mine whose neighborhood has a lot of block parties and hires food trucks often suggested Soul Truckin Good. She said that out of all the trucks, that was the most raved about and pleased the masses. I had called a few already and felt discouraged with the limited menu for private parties. I might have liked this and that but maybe they couldn't do this and that together. I felt a little like Goldilocks and the Three Bears trying to find a menu I felt excited about. With the party being combined with our annual St. Patty's Day party I knew the drinks would be flowing and I wanted to make sure the food was yummy, hearty and filling for a one time guest visit to the truck. So I called Soul Truckin Good, and Jei answered the phone. She has the perfect amount of professionalism, kindness AND understanding when talking things over. The way she described the menu was very easy to understand and I felt like we had great main dish and side dish choices to work with. There was one additional side I wanted even though it ventured outside of the A, B, C type of menu. She wanted to make sure we were happy and she was happy to work with me to make sure we had the menu we wanted. By the end of the process, I felt like I was talking to my friend rather than a stranger. The party was growing by the day. And she talked me through everything regarding the number of people and how much to order, like a pro. Sometimes I felt like she was my therapist, lol, because of the concern I had with making sure everyone would get fed. When you have an Evite for a big party and even if you set a deadline for RSVPs, you will always have those friends that say, oh I forgot...is it too late? Or I know I initially said it was just 2 of us but now it will be all 5, yada yada yada. So we came up with a plan that I felt comfortable with. And not to forget about the food or the guest happiness- the day of the party gets here and the food truck was a huge success. Everyone loved the food. Everything went smoothly, truck was here on-time (even early). They make sure to plan with time cushions to get to their commitments with plenty of time. And there was a line at the end as our time was coming to a close and they stayed until the last person received their order. Can't assume that will always be the case but I was their last commitment that day. Just goes to show they care about the experience and not just the dollar. I don't think there are a lot of business owners out there that care as much about making your experience the best it can be. But I can say without a doubt that Soul Truckin Good is one of them!
