My young child was almost run over by a kid in a Trestle golf cart, and when we went to the lake to confront him he said he is allowed to drive the carts how he wants. He then proceeded to tell me to leave if I didn't like it. The slides are horrible, you have to drag your self down them and forget about the slip and slide unless you want to be injured at the bottom if you don't move quick enough. And lets talk leeches. Not only in the lake, but the owner is an arrogant, rude man that walks around like he has a stick up it. He couldn't care about anything but money. I was told that the rec centre, if ever built, wont accommodate the population that is expected. Now the golfing is ok, but we wanted to play the full 18 and was told we could play the first 9 twice. Guess the back nine are reserved for the elite that mr. arrogant picks to play it.

Friendly staff offered us all a welcome gift bag. It was potato chips and bottled water. Breakfast was included. There is a nice dining area and a self serve breakfast bar. The waffle maker was a huge hit. It's located beside the Mr. Mike's restaurant. The hotel was at capacity in the middle of the week. Make your reservation early. Pet friendly.

Me and my wife have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the current owners. The comment made by Tanya V that it took a 1/2 hour to make coffee due to poor power is impossible if you know anything about power. This campground does not offer 50amp breakers that you have in your house........YOUR CAMPING, YOUR NOT AT HOME. On the comment made by Tanya V about the owners intentionally causing damage to campers rv's is totally ridiculous, if that was the case there wouldn't be anyone camping there........ yet there is a waiting list to get a spot in this wonderful campground. Killdeer Beach Resort campground is a family campground, it is not a party campground and through the years unfortunately there are people that do not understand what that means and disrespect the rules of the campground, which are given to each camper upon arrival. When people don't understand these rules or respect them the owners follow through in respect to all other campers and have the need to shut down loud campers at night. This to the disrespectful campers would be looked at as the owners getting into their face. Due to the comment made that the owners are mentally ill and sometimes nice and sometimes mean only proves that Tanya V and her group were not family oriented people and did not wish to follow the rules and that would explain why the owners would have the need to become firm with them........ that only means that the owners CARE about ALL of their customers. With our comments above we are not asking for people to take aside but do remember that the fact is there is a waiting list to get a site at this resort and you can make up your own conclusion based on that fact. The campground itself is nice, but the owners are tyrannical. They have been suspected of causing…read moredamage to other people's trailers and denying it on more than one occasion. The husband also has a habit of yelling at people, including telling a father to shut up in front of his children. The mood swings of both of them lead people to believe that they are mentally ill, as their behaviour is erratic and unpredictable. One minute they are nice to your face and the next they are yelling at you for quietly sitting around your fire. He even came up to me to ask a question about another camper and when I started to answer it he snapped at me. I was not in any way being rude to him, and my friends were just as stunned as I was. There are also major issues with the power. It would take us 1/2 hour to make a pot of coffee and heaven forbid you try to make toast while you're waiting. Trips to the breaker panel were frequent until we figured out that we could only run one appliance at a time. They have been asked multiple times to fix it, even having an electrician volunteer his time but for some reason they chose not to. Also, we were there 5 years and our fees increased 25% in that time. We had no sewer, terrible water and power, yet our fees continued to rise. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone under its current ownership. These people need to seriously consider another line of work. There are much nicer campgrounds with better services nearby.

I understand restrictions but the resort is designed for people who live there full-time. The ones with full hook ups and built in decks. And if that's what you want this is beautiful. But if you just want a weekend getaway this may not be what you are looking for. There is only one bathroom facility and currently with the cleaning schedule we found there were times it was not accessible. And despite having facilities in my trailer I still prefer to use the provided ones. The resort also advertised trails and they were a joke at least for someone who wanted to go for a real walk. I was also very unimpressed with the check in process. I tried to take advantage of a deal on firewood but they processed my credit card too quickly - it just felt not friendly. Not like the oh so many RV resorts I've been to in the past. I tried something different when I went again- maybe you should too?
