When I arrived, I was then told I'd be seeing a completely different stylist. To make things worse, the new stylist quoted me over $500 for highlights -- completely different from the price I was originally given when I booked. When I asked about the huge difference, I didn't get a clear explanation or any effort to make things right. I was so disappointed and frustrated that I decided to leave without having my hair done. There's no way I was going to pay that much for something that was quoted so differently over the phone. This whole experience felt very unprofessional and misleading. I tried booking online for a curly cut, color, and extension consultation, but I kept getting scheduled with different stylists, which seemed strange. To clear things up, I visited the salon in person, and the front desk agent confirmed that my appointment was good to go. A week before the appointment, I received a call saying the appointment wasn't fully set, and they suggested changes so I could have both the cut and color with the same stylist. I agreed, moving my appointment from noon to 10 a.m. to accommodate the change. On the day of the appointment, my extension consultation went great, and I had a very informative conversation. However, the confusion started right after that. The stylist who was supposed to cut my hair greeted me and offered me a drink, but while she was preparing my coffee, the salon decided to switch stylists on me. Another stylist came over and said she would be cutting and coloring my hair. I shared my color goals with her, but since she was working with another client at the same time, our conversation kept getting interrupted--something that seemed normal at this salon. She did, thankfully, understand my hair goals and started the coloring process. Then, another issue arose. She mentioned that she was still learning how to do a curly cut, which was what I had requested. After checking with the front desk, I was informed that for a proper curly cut, I needed to come in with my hair naturally dried, but since we had already started with the color, the curly cut couldn't be done. I had actually come in with my hair naturally dried for the cut, but due to all the confusion, my appointment wasn't honored. I decided against a regular cut and asked if the curly stylist could diffuse-dry my hair instead, but she declined. They offered to have me sit under a dryer, but I chose to leave with wet hair instead. Later, the owner called to apologize and asked if I'd be willing to give the salon another chance. I said I'd think about it and called back two weeks later when I was considering extensions. The owner again apologized and appreciated my willingness to return. She asked if I still needed a curly cut, but I had already gotten it done elsewhere. She did offer a free gloss with my next color service, but I wasn't interested in returning for another color in a few weeks. I asked if there could be any discount on extensions, but unfortunately, no adjustments could be made. I thanked the owner for her time and offer. The team was kind and apologized for the confusion, explaining that typically, new clients aren't allowed to book online for a curly cut, as these appointments require a call to discuss expectations. That wasn't my experience, though. Despite the miscommunication, the color service was done very well. Since I left the salon with wet hair, I couldn't tell how the color turned out until I got home and styled it. I wish the experience had gone differently because I really wanted to love this salon and return.
