If you want photos your friends will be jealous of, but aren't sure how to achieve that, hire Coppersmith. You're not just buying someone who knows how to hold a camera and edit photos, you're buying their minds and ideas. While we knew what style of photography we wanted, we had no idea how to achieve them. My husband's one request was a photo of the bridal party that looked liked a "cast shot" from a TV show. They ran with the idea, found a gorgeous background, posed the 14 person party, and captured a great moment. Throughout the whole day, they were always thinking of creative angles and set ups to capture every moment. After the ceremony (we did the photos before), they proactively found scenes to photograph, truly working for the full 8 hours we had hired them. The benefits did not end with the night however. More than a thousand photographs (without the annoying watermarks) were edited and uploaded to our personal website (with an app) before we were even home from our honeymoon. Given that our friends and families are spread throughout the country and world, it was so easy to share the photos by just sending them the link. We didn't have to worry about finding a website to host hundreds of GBs of data and then upload from a CD or flash drive. They did that all for us!

Truly, what you see is what you get. The work on her website is just as amazing as the digital images you get for your day. She was also incredibly friendly and completely professional. One thing that drew me to her, besides her work, is how transparent she was about pricing. When I was looking for photographers, so many of them wouldn't tell me their prices until I contacted them. Her pricing is on her website so that there's no question about her being in your price range or not. She made my finance and I super comfortable during the shoot, which was great because it allowed the photographs to feel very natural. Completely amazing!

We're so excited to be the first to review DnK Photography!! It doesn't get any more complicated…read morethan this... Dan and Karin are AMAZING. Their work is AMAZING, their style is AMAZING, the experience you will have with them will be AMAZING. Where do I start...? We have had DnK shoot photos for us about 5 times now and the results have been superb every time! When we first met DnK we were looking for a wedding photographer. We met with about half a dozen photographers in the Twin Cities and DnK were the only ones who seemed to be really enthusiastic about our big day. That was a big plus, of course, but even better than that they went out their way to understand our ideas for the big day even though it was just our initial meeting and we hadn't made any commitments to them yet. My wife and I got a of confidence, very quickly, that they would do a fantastic job for us. The wedding photos turned out perfectly, better than we could have hoped. We had a lot of ideas ourselves but Dan and Karin both came up with really fun and cool ideas on the fly, all of which came out wonderfully. Dan is great at the action shots and coming up with unique ideas in real time as he sees folks interacting and moving around. Karin's portraits and group shots are second to none and her detail shots are sensational. Together they make such a great team and compliment each other really well. We also had the videography option too and that also blew us away. On the big day Dan and Karin were on time (important! :o) and they did a great job or organizing everyone. They kept us on track but at the same time made everyone feel at ease and just helped us enjoy ourselves! (Personally, I don't really like having my photo taken, so the idea of wedding and family photos was enough to make me cut straight to the booze at the reception but DnK managed to take all my nerves away and I really did enjoy myself. It was like magic! Ha!) Immediately after the wedding, on the Monday, we did a "Trash the Dress" shoot at the MN State Fair. Let me tell you - it was a BLAST! Despite it being hot, with hundreds of being constantly surrounding us... it was SO MUCH FUN!! DnK's photos of this shoot were every bit as good as the wedding itself! In fact, in summer several of our photos were used by the Fair as a promo for the event!! How cool!? Since the wedding we have been back again and again. My wife is a musical theatre actress, she has had them shoot her promotional shots for her website and they also shot the photos for a production at The MN History Theatre which have been used two years in a row by the theatre. I could go on and on... but I'll close by saying this: Give DnK a chance, they won't let you down. They will give you incredible value and you will LOVE the results!! Next stop... Pregnancy photos please Dan and Karin! Then baby photos! Then... well, you get the picture... :o)

When looking for a wedding photographer I wanted to find pictures that I connected with. I ran…read moreacross DnK's website. I hadn't seen their advertisements, or website or rankings on wedding sites, so I was a half heartily looking at their pictures, but I fell in love with their photos. That was in 2010, they've been nominated for all sorts of stuff now because they deserve it! As luck would have it, they were available the day we needed! So we met to interview them and I walked out of there and told my fiance at the time - there is no need to interview anyone else. I want them. They were so prepared when we met, but prepared like photographers are, somewhat disorganized, but they knew were everything was but totally on top of it. They were quit the duo to watch. They had their business side down, pricing was prepared, photos were in hand, they knew each others strengths so they let the other focus on their side of the business. We started asking all the "suppose to ask questions" wedding sites suggest you ask, but quickly just started talking. We connected, it was great. What really sold me was I asked "Come on, you have some crazy bridezilla moments, right?" The response was amazing after giggling at the question, "we haven't had any because those are not the types of brides we attract." - they said it much more professional though. The turn around time on the photos was as expected, email response was as expected (note brides - you are not the business's only customer, don't expect an answer for every little question within 24 hrs no matter the business you are talking to), but the quality of our photos by far surpassed expectations. The photo booth was a gem, the candid photos they caught captured the people's personality to a T. Most of all the photos of my husband and I captured our relationship and the mood of the day just perfectly.

I needed some pictures of me going Thai Yoga Bodywork for website building, so we set up an hour-long block of time in one of the studios, spent about a half-hour shooting, and ended up with 148 photos that are ALL excellent. I'm so impressed with Angela's accessibility, professionalism, and efficiency. She was incredibly easy to work with. The atmosphere was never rushed, stressed, or pressured. I couldn't believe how much material I got for how little "work" it felt like! Fifteen years from now, I want to look at my wedding pictures and remember how I felt that day…read more Michele's photography is unique. She is somehow able to capture the raw emotion. Her communication is excellent, she is thorough, extremely easy to work with and a really hard worker. She was actually eight months pregnant on my wedding day, and she didn't miss a beat. Everyone in our wedding party was impressed with Michele and beyond amazed with the results, which came less than two weeks after our wedding.

At the outset, I should disclose that Michele is a friend of mine. That said, when my partner and I…read moredecided to get married, we knew that we wanted to hire her as our photographer. I've followed and enjoyed Michele's work for many years, ever since she was a photographer for my hometown newspaper. Since then, I've watched her grow as a photojournalist and apply the talent she developed in that arena to her work as a wedding and family photographer. As a same-sex couple, shopping for wedding services can feel a little bit fraught. Thankfully, we didn't have any bad experiences, but along with all the other things to deal with while planning a wedding, there's also the worry that somebody will be weird about making you a cake with two grooms on top of it or something. Knowing Michele personally as we did, we knew that that wouldn't be a problem, but we were also impressed with her previous work as a photographer at a diverse variety of weddings, including same-sex weddings. It has been eight months since the wedding, and as I look back at the photos Michele took, I get a real sense of the story of the day. The staged portraits and photos of the ceremony are beautiful, but the thing that really sets Michele's work apart is the candid shots she took before the ceremony and during and after the reception. Together with the more formal shots, Michele's candid work really captured the personalities of the friends and family that made our day so special. I find that when wedding photography is merely competent, it can have a cookie-cutter quality about it. Michele's work, in addition to being formally excellent, also has an empathetic and perceptive quality that sets her apart. The wedding photos she takes for you won't just be pictures of a wedding, they will be pictures of YOUR wedding.
