I've been a customer here for a while and have generally had positive experiences, which is why today's visit caught me so off guard. The whole thing felt like something out of a sitcom. At first, I wanted to laugh, but the longer it went on, the more uncomfortable I became. When I arrived, I was told I wasn't on the schedule, even though I had made my appointment earlier that day. After switching computers and asking for additional information, the receptionist eventually found my appointment. From there, things got awkward. I understand people come here for laser hair removal, and it's nothing to be ashamed of, but there were other clients sitting in the lobby and it felt like my treatment details were being announced for everyone to hear. The receptionist has one of those voices that really carries, and I repeatedly heard "lip, cheek, chin" being announced throughout my check-in process. To make matters more uncomfortable, there was a lengthy discussion about whether I had any underarm sessions remaining on my package. I questioned it because I thought I still had some left, but instead of a quick explanation, it felt like my entire service history was being reviewed out loud. I was asked multiple times if I wanted to look at the computer screen and review appointments, but honestly, I just wanted to move on. Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but hearing discussions about facial hair, treatment areas, package balances, and hair regrowth in a public waiting area made me want to crawl into a hole. Yes, I have hair on my lip, cheeks, and chin. That's literally why I was there. But I'd prefer not to feel like it's being broadcast to the room. What made the experience especially disappointing is that I walked in excited about the summer sale and was fully planning to purchase additional treatment packages. By the end of the appointment, I felt so uncomfortable that I just wanted to leave. Buying more services was the last thing on my mind. When I finished my treatment, all I wanted to do was leave and avoid the front desk. I was again offered a review of my appointment history and encouraged to schedule my next visit and then was told that I should really be consistent to avoid regrowth. I know everyone was trying to be helpful, but at that point I was ready to walk out the door with literally the door open and one foot out. I just kept smiling and saying no thank you, but it felt like that wasn't a good enough response. I think I was especially surprised because I've always had great experiences with Shayna, who has consistently been professional, discreet, and made me feel comfortable. This experience felt very different. The treatment itself and the nurse giving the treatment was great, but I hope management takes this feedback to heart. A little more discretion when discussing clients' services and treatment history in the lobby would go a long way in making customers feel more comfortable. read more

I had a bad experience with the customer service at this location. I booked an appointment on a Sunday morning. I arrived on time for my appointment, waited in the waiting room for 10 minutes or so. Then, the receptionist moved me into a room to wait for my nurse. I sat in the room and waited for another 35 minutes, and nobody showed up. I walked out, and checked with the receptionist. She said that the nurse was almost done. The receptionist said they double booked me with another customer. They could have said that when I booked my appointment or when I showed up, so I could book another time slot for my appointment. Or, they could have informed me that the nurse is running late, at least, but they didn't handle the situation professionally. I ended up leaving without the treatment. Definitely won't come back to this location again. read more

Love that we finally have a location in TO. Prior I had to go to Oxnard for services and that was quite far. Everyone has been wonderful at both locations regardless from reception to nurse providers. At the TO location I've done hair laser removal, clear and brilliant, potenza, and botox and continue to go for those services on regular basis since they've opened. I chose Laser Away because I travel frequently and appreciated the extended hours and multiple locations. After completing the treatment plan, I am sharing a comprehensive overview to help others be better prepared. Service quality varied significantly by location, shaping my overall assessment. 1. Treatment Experience and Pain Management Laser hair removal, particularly for the Brazilian and underarm areas, was more painful than I expected based on marketing materials and my phone consultation. Pain tolerance varies, but the discomfort seemed understated. Even in later sessions, when hair growth had diminished, the sensation remained significant. Pain-management options such as ice, numbing cream, or preparation guidance were not proactively offered (except at Thousand Oaks). I learned about additional strategies only after contacting support or researching online. For hydrofacial treatment, the light therapy was uncomfortable due to brightness. Additional eye covering was available on request but not offered by default. Suction was fine, and I did not notice a marked improvement afterward, so I did not purchase more sessions. 2. Variations in Staff Support by Location Thousand Oaks and Westlake Staff at these locations were consistently professional, communicative, and supportive, setting a positive baseline for the brand. Oxnard a. Handling of Menstrual-Related Hygiene Policy Laser Away requires tampon use for Brazilian treatments during active bleeding. I use a hormonal IUD and usually only know I am on my period from cramping. During my first Oxnard appointment, I was not bleeding but mentioned cramps. The Laser Operator immediately refused to continue, insisting a tampon was required. When I asked if one was available, she said none were on hand. I offered to get one from a nearby store, but the appointment had to be rescheduled for a week later. b. Laser Operator Hostility During Painful Sessions This session was the rescheduled session from the 2a experience, and unfortunately I had the same Laser Operator as before. At the beginning of the session I told her I was struggling with the painfulness of the sessions and struggling with a hard day, the operator curtly said, "ok" and did not offer any solutions. During the session, when the discomfort became significant enough that I asked to stop (I was meaning for a short pause, but I said the word "stop"), she was abrupt and hostile- immediately threatening to cancel the session. When I begged for help with the pain (my words were "please, is there really nothing to help me"), she tossed ice packs at me with derision and left the room. She did come back to finish the session, but continued to be aggressive and curt. c. Customer Support Follow-Up When I contacted support afterward, alternative scheduling or staff options were not offered until I specifically requested not to work with this operator again. 3. Scheduling and Cancellation Policies Laser Away charges $125 for rescheduling within 24 hours. On my third Oxnard visit (booked six weeks in advance), the office cancelled due to staffing. When I asked about a courtesy waiver, my request was initially declined. After escalating to management, the appointment was ultimately honored. Other locations did not have similar issues. 4. Payment Plan Clarity At the start, I asked if the installment plan was a loan, explaining I preferred full payment if it was. I was told it was not. Later I learned the plan was financed through a third party, accrued interest, and affected my credit, effectively functioning as a loan. When I called to clarify, I was told no changes could be made because I had already signed. While I acknowledge signing without reviewing all fine print, the documents were sent while the representative remained on the phone, creating pressure to complete the process immediately. Future customers may want to independently verify terms before signing. I recommend ending the call, reviewing documents, then resuming the call. Overall Assessment My experience with Laser Away varied significantly by location. Thousand Oaks and Westlake were consistently professional and supportive, while Oxnard was markedly negative, with multiple incidents of unprofessional behavior, lack of support, and policy inflexibility. Prospective clients should be prepared to advocate for themselves. Laser Away offers appointments throughout the day, multiple locations, and effective hair-reduction results. However, I encourage clients to verify payment-plan terms carefully and choose locations thoughtfully, as the experience can differ considerably. read more

I had the best experience at the Thousand Oaks Laser Away! First off, Shayna personally helped me figure out that I still had a thermage treatment in a series that I bought, and she let me know I could do it at any location which is amazing! (Get thermage, it's awesome) We then discussed other treatments and I decided to do microneedling first because I had been wanting to try it. I went for it yesterday, and I saw Christy (K?). She was sooooo good. So knowledgeable, and o felt so comfortable and taken care of. We talked about Botox and I decided to come back the next day and see her because let me tell you, she knows what she's doing. I could tell just by how she was talking about it. I have been getting Botox for 20 years and I can safely say she blew me away with her skill and techniques. She knows all the secret places and how to do it without bruising!! Go see her asap. The nurses are so professional, kind, and really take the time to explain everything, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. A special shoutout to Catelyn--she's amazing! I feel as if I was up-selled to "bank" more Botox. Before my first visit, I was encouraged to buy units. I would "bank" these. The first treatment was so light, I saw no appreciable difference. (I was only given a portion of the units I had "banked.") I waited three weeks. However, when I returned for a "touch up," lo--and-behold, I was "short" units, and I was encouraged to purchase (or "bank") more. On the way out, I was approached, yet again, to "bank" more units. This. was not a good customer experience for me. I felt a little too much "salesmanship." I don't want to be too accusatory, but I wonder if this is their business practice? To constantly have customers carry a deficit so they have to purchase more units and to stay beholden? read more

Great customer service, and super clean facility But i don't recommend for botox- i'm sure their facials and whatnot are good I'm at 30yo who clenches my jaw at night (TMJ) so i received around 70+ units on my forehead, and both sides of my jaw (over $700). They did warn me beforehand they aren't a Medical clinic and can't technically treat it for relief like a doctor could, of course. I should include though, that Iv received botox treatment for these areas before, from places similar to LaserAway, and have had much better results for way less money. But a week after my first treatment with Laseraway, a decently sized lump/muscle appeared on the left side of my forehead (My TMJ is way worse on the left). They said I could come in for a touch up, but the cost per unit would be more expensive than my original "first time client" deal. I declined. To their credit, the manager reached out and had me send pictures (included below) to see if they could gift me some units to fix this. And they did ! I went in and the girl who they had help me/do the botox was unaware of this situation and mentioned to me that she was new (she was super sweet tho- just new). I was there for an hour and a half because she had to get other opinions every so often, sometimes gone for 20-30 minutes. Which was okay cause I'd prefer this muscle to be fixed properly, just was a long appointment. It's worth mentioning, on my way out of this appointment, they tried to sell me on this discounted botox package for the 2nd/3rd time. I wanted to be happy with my results before I spent more $ there though. It's been the full two weeks, and I still have this same lump, but now on both sides (and just slightly moved down)- giving me an angry expression every time I raise my eyebrows They just called me today and I thought they were going to check up on me/the results. The staff is INCREDIBLE and very sweet, everyone is so patient and understanding. They do a great job during sessions of the walking and talking you through everything thats happening during treatment and they create a very comfortable space for you to be in. The reason I give this a 1 star though is because honestly for me it didn't work :( I have had 8 sessions, which I understand does not completely stop hair growth, but makes it thinner and easier to manage. And that's how it was while I was getting my sessions every few weeks, but after my last session which was maybe 2 months ago my hair has basically FULLY grown back. And now anytime I go to shave I am constantly getting nicked even if the razor is fresh out of the box. I got my sessions on a great deal for $5K but, I am feeling a bit let down with these results given that I paid that much money :( read more

Just had my second session at LaserAway Thousand Oaks for Laser Hair Removal. So now feels like a good time for an early review! This was my second session getting laser hair removal, and both times have been with Sifti controlling the laser. Although I don't know how other people do it, I can say confidently that Sifti is very good at her job! She made me feel really well taken care of and comfortable. She checked in often during the brief session to make sure I was comfortable with the laser intensity. And at the end she made sure I knew what to do to care for my skin after my session.
