I had been transferring videos myself using my own amateur equipment, but their equipment was far superior. Not to mention, Eric (the owner) is extremely professional, trustworthy and very friendly! I wouldn't want to hand over my irreplaceable home videos to just anyone, but I completely trusted Eric with them. He is a professional that has been in the broadcasting business for decades and clearly knows what he's doing. Not to mention, his studio was incredibly impressive - it was very cool to see for a video-editing nerd like myself! He even took the time to show me around his studio, such incredible equipment. In any case, I highly recommend VideoTapeTransfers for digitizing your videos! They came out fantastic - great audio and great video quality!! Just what I was looking for. Also very reasonably priced ($25 for a two-hour VHS; everywhere I looked was in the $20 to $30 range, with the $20 places not having professional equipment, and the $30 range just being overpriced). Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

The owner, I am assuming, tried warning me that the quality would not be that great because of the age of the film, but I got exactly what I expected. The price was reasonable for what they have to do to digitize it. We are extremely happy with the work. We have 2 more reels to convert and will be returning.

I worked…read moreclosely with Jon, the president of the company, to make sure that he understood everything I wanted done. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable about everything. It turned out that I had omitted an important piece of info for him, which was that the Mini-DV was recorded in Hi-Def, a medium which apparently is not commonly used. Video City did not have a Hi-Def Mini-DV tape deck. Instead of telling me that he couldn't complete the job and to take my business elsewhere, Jon went above and beyond and called camera and video stores all over the Philadelphia area to see if he could rent their equipment to finish my project. When he couldn't find what he needed, he drove outside the Philadelphia area and picked up the proper equipment himself. The final result was exactly what I needed, and I would highly recommend Video City for anyone who needs video transfer or editing done. Jon did way more than was called for, and this is an example of how a good business is run.

Some time ago, I used them to make a…read moredigital transfer of some old film footage and 1) it was expensive 2) quality of the transfer was just terrible- it looked like someone projected it on a screen in their basement and just shot it with a low resolution camera and 3) it took weeks longer than expected. There was a very prominent vignetting in all the footage that was not in the original, as well. I had it redone with a service in Old City I used before and while it was also expensive (same price) it came out properly. The girl behind the counter was also not helpful at all and wouldn't address any of the quality issues. She blamed it on the original footage quality, but when it was redone, it came out fine.

And a very reasonable price. Especially for the super high quality result we received. As the Director of Marketing for Arnold's Office Furniture, my team and I spent a day in a studio shooting a marketing video for our Sunline Sliding Cubicles and we couldn't have imagined the video finish up any better. In fact, we loved it so much, we had them create an instructional video for cubicle assembly using as much of the footage as they could from the video shoot while weaving in other visual assets, and that was also fantastic. The onscreen display additions, the voice-overs, the help with the script, and their patience with our mild perfectionism was appreciated and comes highly recommended. The unit that was wired to the deck stopped working about 1 1/2 years after installation. Kim said Sonos wouldn't honor the warranty. When I finally got her on the line, Kim said "This just isn't a priority." I called Sonos directly and they informed me that Kim never called to ask for the unit to be covered under warranty. Once I explained everything, Sonos agreed to make an exception and agreed to replace the unit free of charge! Find a customer-oriented audio and video company to install expensive equipment.
