This year was my first time at the Sandwich county fair. We arrived at about 4:30/5 pm on Sunday…read morewhich was the last day. Usually it costs $9 bucks to get in, but we only paid $4 or $5. I thought that was nice that we only had to pay a portion rather than the full amount. As soon as you walk in there was bunnies to the left absolutely the cutest bunnies!!! There was one called a lion head which was definitely my favorite. The to the right they had lambs, sheep, dairy cows, calves. There was a hen house and also a petting zoo. Within the fair as well. I absolutely love animals. I wish they could all be in their natural habitat rather than be put on a show for people. It's pretty sad. That's why I don't really go to the zoo anymore. They offer plenty of rides and games for kids and families to enjoy! They're all grouped together so you don't have to run all over the place to get on the next ride. That was over crowded. We didn't even attempt it. They have food places all over the place. The sweet corn was amazing! So were the BCR fries from the beach shack place. They were bacon ranch fries that were super flame!!!! I want them right now actually hhaha. Overall, it's a nice day out with the family and I would recommend it. It's a hike from the Chicago area, but getting out of the city and nearby suburbs is always nice.

I went in the past but I thought it was going to be huge. It was definitely not as big as I had…read morethought. If you come later in the afternoon or evening, you'll be parking far from the entrance. That's if you go on a Fri or Saturday. They had different kinds of animals to look at. Food is your typical fair food. I didn't want to eat fried food all the time, so it was nice to see some pierogis in the mix. They do have some shows going on, you'll have to look at the schedule to see if anything interests you. We probably only spent a couple hours here at the max.

My friends reminded me it was Corn Fest weekend, so why not check it out…read more Although calling this fest corn fest seemed to miss the mark. I was expecting more corn dishes and corn themed. There was a lot of typical carnival eats as well as taco trucks. Fest is free to walk around. If not staying to watch the music or ride the carnival rides an hour or so is plenty.

Corn Fest!!!! My main issue is the treatment of the beer garden, it is completely fenced in like…read moresome kind of ICE containment area. There is not a ton of signage specifying how exactly to get in. I am able bodied and had to walk around the entire block to find the entrance, after running into a dead end by the sound stage; and being thwarted from multiple alley entrances that were not designated as off limits to the public. By the time I finally found the entrance, it made me think, what if I were disabled or using a walker? That would have been ten times as difficult. When I finally did find the entrance, they informed me that it was $10 per person just to enter the containment area, at that point I was over it. Mind you, there are no other alcoholic beverages sold outside of the containment area, unless of course you pop into one of the local bars. Not everyone, but I also noticed that some vendors would only accept cash. There were some reasonable food options, but overheard one vendor quote $18 for a brat?!?! Corn Fest may have just jumped the shark.

There is plenty of space So we did not feel like we were on top of other people which is also a plus! We Will be back next year!!

Kari's Rating 7/10…read more TLDR: -Dogs Allowed! -Lots of Picture Opportunities - This is my first time at Konow's Corn Maze and it was honestly such a cute place. It was about an hour drive to Homer Glen, but well worth the drive. We pulled up on a Wednesday and it wasn't very busy which was great. They had fun activities like a pumpkin house, perfect for pictures with your pups. A goat barn which my dog and I could go into, as well as a larger petting/feeding area with sheep, pigs, donkeys, cows and more. Thankfully dogs weren't allowed in there as my pup would have been pretty scared cuz the animals were quite large, but they were all friendly. They had a bunch of activities and I'm shocked at the variety. There was a game room, corn pits, hayride, cow trains, two carnival rides, a large and small corn maze. We ended up going in the small corn maze and coming out the exit of the larger maze-not sure how we did that but it was a really fun day. There was a shaded area with a bounce house, a straw playground and hoops through a modified harvesting machine. It again, seemed geared towardt children, but it was really cool to experience a new place and enjoy the afternoon. Definitely recommend coming on a weekday as I can for see it being quite busy on the weekends!
