French Gel manicure on natural nails

This was exactly the place I was looking for. As a student studying abroad, I was desperate for a place to get my nails done for a good price. Don't expect to be pampered, this is a get in get out salon. I got this French done in probably 20 minutes and it only cost 11€. I don't speak any Spanish so I used Google translate to tell them exactly what I wanted. If you're looking for an efficient and cheap manicure, this is the place to go.

So affordable! Normal manicures for 5€, permanents for 10€. Pedicures are 10 or 13€ and so worth it -- a permanent version will last you about 3 weeks with almost no chips at all. You definitely shouldn't expect a high-end spa here. In fact, it's a bit ghetto. But the nail painting work is top quality and the prices can't be beat. It's always been busy the times that I've been here; in fact, I'm not sure if there's a good time to come, or if it's just always super popular. Come with a bit of extra time just in case you have to wait for your mani or pedi!

Honestly, you get what you pay for. Coming from the US means I'm used to paying around $50 for a decent gel mani/pedi. I paid 23 euros for both and they were perfect. Nails were filed and cuticles were pushed back, pedicure was typical & I got a massage for both. Color options were good too. This will definitely be my go to place for the next few months I'm here. Still a little nervous to try acrylics though.

permanent manicure - 5 days later- chipped on day 2!!

I was studying in Spain for the summer and I wanted to find a good nail salon to go to while I was there. I walked to this place as it wasn't too far from the Sol metro stop. I got the permanent manicure and regular pedicure. Compared to my experience with nail salons in L.A., this salon was very cheap. Most manicures are $35 in L.A. I waited at peak time for about 20 minutes for a manicure. It was very quick, took maybe about 20 minutes, and she roughly did my cuticles (they are still awful and hurt and bleed). Then I was transferred to the pedicure chair. This chair and the water bucket felt very unsanitary. It was a good price, 10€ for each manicure and pedicure. I was initially excited because I was sitting next to locals and chatting with them, so I initially decided to trust this nail salon. The main message from this post is that you get what you pay for.

This is a great place to get your nails done if you just want a very cheap manicure. It only costs 10 euro for gel. But if you are looking for a relaxing experience while getting your nails done or good customer service this is definitely not the place. It also smells a lot like chemicals which I know some people can't handle.. I am starting to become one of this people. Every time I have gone I have had to wait a while and I have always felt that the services are very rushed. However it is such a cheap manicure and it lasts so that's a plus.

16.50€ total. 15€ for the acrylic set. .25c for each rhinestone. I love it although in the picture they look a bit crooked ...

It's so affordable here! Back in the states, it's about 35$ for acrylics and gel. So here's the price break down. 5€ for normal nail polish (for which they call "manicure") 10€ for gel (which they call "permanente") 15€ for acrylics (fake nails) with gel (which they call uñas de gel) And I got extra rhinestones on there. For the smallest ones, they charge .25c for each one. So I got 3 on each middle finger (see in photo), and paid 1.50€. It cost .50c for a larger size. I originally wanted an ombré of light pink to white but they said they only do one color :( You also need to be pretty proficient in Spanish. I would have been a confused lost person had it not been for my friend who spoke Spanish and the girl sitting next to me who is a local and spoke some English. They did not use any nail drills that I'm used to. They did all the shaping by hand filing. It was interesting how one of the non Asian employees was filing my left hand while the other Asian employee was gluing the nails on the other hand. I thought it was efficient and cool how they teamworked. The only reasons for the four stars rather than five is because they real ripped up the sides of my cuticle area on my pink and middle finger (idk if you can see in the pic) and it really stung when they put some type of liquid after they glued and filed. But I'm a big girl and couldn't speak good enough Spanish to complain... on the bright side, I notice they sanitize their tools often (as in they spray it with a sanitizer). I also didn't feel very valued as a customer. Like she would grab my hand and like kinda flick it away to tell me to put it somewhere else but that is mostly due to me not being able to understand madridean Spanish. I'm just sensitive and I'm over it jaja Tips: have your day pretty free. It's on a first come first serve basis and there's only space for I think 4 people to be worked on at the table at a time. They don't take appointments. If you can't speak good enough Spanish, bringing in a picture is helpful. I only got acrylics and didn't experience anything of the other services like pedicures or waxings etc. But if I do, I'll let y'all know.

Friendly service, went with the lady's suggestion with the darker red, turned out great, I love it! The lady did a fast but great job! And it's only 10 € for the gel manicure, really affordable. Definitely recommend it!

    Nails freshly done

So I got a gel manicure for 10€, while everywhere else nearby was 15€ or above (and in other neighborhoods, around 30€!). Definitely do not expect any frills. It's a very simple salon and they're there to get the job done (No hand massage). For me, it's worth it. It's been 3 weeks and my mani has just started to chip and I say that loosely because it's barely chipping. I did feel a little awkward and dismissed when I arrived and felt low key prejudice vibes from the lady who was in charge just by the way I was treated (I'm black), but honestly 10€ is worth it and I'm used to it. Plus, the woman who actually did my nails was really sweet & did an immaculate job.

We tried this place out on an accurate recommendation of "fast, not fancy" and it met expectations. They have an unbeatable 10€ gel mani. We both got normal manicures for 5€. The cuticle removal will make you feel like a log being turned into a 2x4. You may select a color and they may bring you let's call it a variation on that theme. Not a place big on massage or paraffin dips but they also won't try to up-sell you. They are speedy and the place is quiet. No pedicure chairs so not a place I would recommend for that. If you want a quick color change this is a good bet.

With prices so cheap, you don't really know what to expect but they have exceeded my expectations. You definitely don't get pampered and the nail techs are very particular with everything but they do a great job!

Had a fabulous experience at this classy Essie nail bar…read more Why? I called and spoke to a lovey woman who reserved a spot for me for a manicure one hour later, all in a very elegant English! The salon is spic and span and very relaxed, so much so that I wanted to nap throughout my entire manicure. The manicure seat is full of soft pillows and bright colors, very chic and plush. The manicurist was super sweet and did a fantastic job, communicated as best she could in English or just simple hand movements. My mani included a lovely hand scrub with warm water rinsing and massage. They have all of the latest and greatest colors from Essie, as it's an Essie sponsored spa! All of the above for the very nice price of 20E

Just plain awful. I think it's a shame that this is the only Essie spa in the world (according to…read morethe nail techs!), and they run their shop the way they do. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, they have all a wonderful color selection. The decor is cute, and they are super friendly - until it's time to pay the bill. All of a sudden, my friend and I who had the same services done simultaneously got charged different prices. The woman at the register claimed they'd done some extra services for one of us. She wasn't even clear which of us had received the extra services. We started and ended our mani pedis at the same time, so it's really not even possible. I think she's the owner, and she was not the one to check us in. My friend speaks fluent Spanish, so it wasn't a language issue; although perhaps she was trying to scam the American tourists. Avoid this place at all costs!
