The menu offers a great selection of entrees and starters. We opted for the delicious beef 'heffer' which was a perfectly prepared sirloin of steak with roasted tomatoes, basil and a cheese torta ($10). Lunch is accompanied with an incredible bread basket featuring five styles of bread and rolls, as well as a complimentary meat empanada. For dessert we thoroughly enjoyed the molten chocolate cake served with ice cream and caramel sauce (dulce de leche)($5). Service was friendly and very attentive. Such a lunch for two for USD$35 is truly incredible!

Service: when servers are wanting to serve you but refrained from it and have to ask the Manager if ok to do so, that's bad management so we don't blame the servers for leaving us waiting for our one and only server to help us. Server was surprised because we tip more than their 10% standard (again, not their fault the service wasn't good enough, we saw him while waiting our turn, he was hustling several tables alone). Manager seemed busy, she stood near our table but never asked us if we were taken care of or not, nobody picked up our pile of plates near the border of our table ready to go and two different servers asked her if they could help us but she preferred to call our server who had his hands full and turned to see her to listen to her while putting a hard to watch fake smile ... the poor guy! We just really wanted to pay and leave. Ambiance: servers seemed overwhelmed, we didn't get the teamwork feeling like in most places. Price: we paid in cash so with the current exchange rate this was cheap but by local standards we could've spent the same amount or less somewhere else and have a better result than this no doubt. I really hope that if you're reading this and still decided to come that you have better luck than we did. We heard from a handful of people we asked recommending this place so I didn't read any of the reviews. Lesson learned!

We ordered a few starters, including empanadas, a stuffed tomato, and deep-fried mozzarella sticks. The empanadas were decent but nothing memorable. The stuffed tomato was very basic, and the mozzarella sticks were huge but had an odd flavor to the point that none of us ate them. The plates were cleared without any comment, which felt a bit inattentive. Service was fine overall, but since this was a recommended stop for empanadas, it ended up being a letdown and not somewhere I'd return.

We were looking for an early dinner and we hadn't tried any steak in Argentina yet so after…read moresearching on Google we picked Minga. Sadly, that was a mistake. We ordered a ribeye, a salad to start and the pumpkin. The salad was delivered with the main course, a pet peeve of mine. The salad itself consisted of wilted and boarder line rotten greens and spinach that we had to pick our way around. As for the ribeye, we were served a short rib, not a ribeye. We later realized, after looking at another restaurant, that this was due to a translation error on their menu. Although the portion was enormous, even though we ordered the "half" portion, the meat was extremely sinuous and difficult to eat. We also ordered a salmon ravioli which was reasonably good. Suffered generously with salmon. The star of the meal was the pumpkin, actually squash. It was baked in its skin and the skin was blackened making for a very nice presentation and just an ever so slight charred flavour. Overall I would not recommend Minga. It is difficult to overlook a steak house that has translation errors on their steak offerings and the quality of the cut and preparation of the short ribs were just not up to par.

The prices are really high, which would not have been a problem had the food been good or even mediocre. I held off reviewing this place as I wanted to give it another chance before reviewing it, but unfortunately, I am forced to concede that this place is not for me. There are definitely far, far better places with this price range. And this place has either changed cooks, or my taste buds just don't match the people who raved about this place. We decided to visit the restaurant one evening for dinner and had a nice experience. We started with the Quesos Locales y Chutneys Patagonicos. This selection of local cheeses and jams featured cheese of varying textures and flavors: one gooey rich and creamy, one hardy and salty, and one creamy deliciously pungent blue cheese. The pairing of jams worked nicely with each cheese. Next we had the Duo de Empanadas Caseras. This pair of empanadas featured one beef and one cheese. The empanadas had a crisp outside, the cheese was nicely gooey and the beef was tender and lightly marinated with a creamy gravy. For our entrée we split an Ojo de Bife. This steak was tender, juicy and smokey and paired with sides of chimichurri, ground mustard and salt.
