REAL, delicious Italian food! This is my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Spain. When I found…read morethis place I was so thrilled! Of course, the familiar Italian pizzas and pastas are soooo delicious here! The pizza dough, sauces, and ingredients are more gourmet. If you like a better level of cuisine, this is the place for you. But, if you like Pizza Hut or some chain food, this is not the place for you. There are some other bargain pizza joints in town for that. Beyond these courses, there are excellent seafood, beef, pork, and vegetarian dishes. All cooked with an Italian flavor. And the salads are so fresh and delicious. Definitely a step above much of the cuisine nearby. There are very nice wines and drinks to pair with the meals. The staff is very warm and professional. The setting is very nice, but still comfortable. Perfect! The owner is a trained chef from Italy with many years of experience. I have been up and down the length of Italy many times over the years. I was raised with excellent Italian food made by Italian immigrants in Philly and then San Francisco. Dolce Vita's food stands up to the standards of a very good Italian restaurant.

Ordered the churros, ham and cheese sandwich, and a teriyaki pork strips. The pork was excellent and I would definitely order it again. The sandwich was dry so i should've ordered it a different way. There are other places that has better churros. But the best thing is the ambience with people wathcing. It is in the middle of everything. There were three waiters rushing about and looking through us. After a good five minutes, my boyfriend was able to get one's attention. We ordered a non-alcohol beer and a sparkling water and a menu. At the table next to us, three people sat. The waiter brought us a menu and ignored the three. I ordered a cheese burger, since I saw others eating them. Still, the waiter ignored the people next to us. They gave up and left. An elderly couple replaced them at the table. The elderly man literally stood in the way of a waiter to get his attention. They wanted coffee and cakes. The waiter either didn't understand them or pretended not to understand them. My boyfriend speaks Spanish and attempted to help. The waiter pretended not to understand him!?! My cheeseburger arrived and had a different taste. My boyfriend ate the accompanying fries. Something was obviously not right with the burger as 30 minutes later, I had horrible indigestion. Oh, and by the time we paid, the elderly couple still had not gotten their coffee and cakes! The only thing good about Central Cafe is the view. The service is rude. The food is horrible.

The food is ok. It was nice to see a few familiar bottles hot sauces. To be fair, it is the best I have had in the four Mexican restaurants that I have tried in Spain. My beer was fine. My daughter's pina colada was not good. Bottom line: if you are from Mexico or the SW United States, the food is bland and below average. I worked in a better Mexican restaurant for years. I don't understand what the issue is. I have to believe that there is good Mexican food in Spain. Somewhere.

Maybe I'm easily impressed here, but this was a good experience for me. Several times over, actually. I'm now a regular. Spain isn't exactly known for it's great cousine, so it's important to keep restaurants like these going in the midst of all the chicken skewers and paellas. Tapas will only get me so far. A full belly is a happy belly, IMO.

We ordered the tomato with anchovies, patatas bravas, grilled sea bass, Iberian table (ham, chorizeo, sausage and cheese platter), and green peppers. I was super bummed that they ran out of the Anchovies in Vinegar (the one thing I truly wanted), but still, everything we ordered was pretty good. Caution: the at least 50% of the green peppers were very spicy, but I still ate them cuz it was tasty, despite the heat. The patatas bravas was average, but it helped with the spice from the peppers lol. Tomato with anchovies were amazing, with the olive oil and salt drizzled all over. The sea bass was fresh and hit the spot for my husband, who was craving some fresh fish. Lastly, the Iberian table/platter was perfect, and my fave was the Iberian ham, so oily but the flavor of it was so good. We also ordered beer and sangria - you always gotta get the sangria in Spain, at least I do. Try this place for the staple Spanish tapas, and for great customer service. You'll see a lot of locals and tourists here, which I think is a good sign.
