This is a local joint serving "gorditas", this is a traditional and popular dish in Aguascalientes. it consists of different braises and other dishes...along with cheese stuffed in a tortilla like shell, but thicker (similar to a pupusa but opened in the middle and stuffed). I was born and raised here so I have an extensive knowledge on this dish, specially because my mom would make them all the time. You can find a gorditas joint pretty much everywhere in the city. The most popular is gorditas Victoria in downtown, because they are the original, but the taste is not the same which brings me to the review of this place. This place is the new "it" spot for gorditas, but these come with a little twist, because these are fried...rather then the traditional ones that are just made in the comal (griddle). Lots of locals rave about this place and they are not wrong, I have lots of family in Aguascalientes and they all say the spot to go is here. As I mentioned above gorditas are stuffed with simple braises, so what makes or breaks a gordita joint is how good those braises are prepared. The ones at this place are really good!! They taste home made and it takes it to whole new level with the fried shell. If you're a gringo or are new to this dish I recommend to get one of beans, potatoes, and cheese to start, it is not spicy and has a good flavor. Try this spot and you won't be disappointed. Also feel free to put as much guacamole as you want, this is Mexico and guac is complimentary lol. read more
